Denon AVR-2805 (black)

Automatic setup with included high-quality microphone; room-tuning equalization; group audio delay for use with lagging video displays; two-zone operation; 7.1-channel receiver.

Automatic setup could be easier to use.

Equipped with lip-sync delay, Denon's loaded AVR-2805 trumps the opposition in the feature wars.

Denon AVR-2805 & DVM-1815 DVD/CD changer, Polk Monitor 60 loudspeakers & PSW12 sub

Stage Two of the experiment involved evaluating the systems for ease of setup and operation, and sound quality. As with the shopping, I tried to approach setup and operation from a novice's perspective; however, there were minor glitches with all three...

Our expectations of immediate gratification were instantly shot down. The speakers sounded way too boomy. The solution: bringing them out farther into the room and filling their ports with the foamrubber plugs supplied with the speakers by B&W, a cure...

Receivers, Tuners, and Integrated Amps: Audio/Video Receivers: Denon AVR-2805

The Denon AVR-2805 is a 7.1-channel receiver that outputs 100Wpc to all seven channels; it's Denon's latest 32-bit floating point DSP that provides the horsepower to implement room equalization and decoding of all surround formats, including Dolby...

"Great higher-end receiver"

I have been looking for a quality receiver for a long time now. I have the speakers (Klipsch KLF 20, KLF C7, and RS35) that can benefit from a quality setup. Denon is really the only way to go if you want very high-end construction and quality. The on...

all around quality; sound; performance; functions; inputs and outputs; looks

remote could be better; and cant rename the inputs (aka XBox vs. DVD)

"Very impressed with this denon"

Sleek looking design & available in silver or black. 3 component vid inputs, 5 optical and 2 coax digital inputs & all are assignable. Excellent sound quality and the included mic makes setup much simpler. The video switching works flawlessly. Als

No ability to change the source input names, for example from "Vid 1" to "X Box"

Denon AVR-2805 (black)

This is a great unit with amazingly clean sound, plenty of options and flexible uses, but you'd think for $900 Denon could provide decent remote control and a manual that was understandable. I gave the 9 rating for the amplifier only. I bought a...

Great sound and flexiblity

Denon AVR-2805 (black)

Overall one of the best receivers on the market in this price range. If you're shopping for a receiver in this price range then you do yourself a disservice if you don't consider this one. The video upconversion feature allows standard RCA video to be...

Denon AVR-2805 (black)

Solid power & performance; great connectivity options; video up-converting and component switching; "Must have" Lip-Sync; and microphone setup features

Viewing onscreen display requires using a S-video connection and could use a higher definition mode for components; some options are harder to set up than they should be; needs HDMI or DVI switching

"Excellent sound and features"

Music sounds so good via Ascend/SVS 5.1 speaker system that it has spoiled me. The Bose system in my car sounds flat and lifeless next to my home system. The Pure Direct mode is amazing- the imaging is so good, I couldn't tell the center speaker wasn't

Although the auto setup was easy, the manual leaves a lot to be desired. It takes some experimentation with the remote to learn how to work the TV, receiver, and DVD player without buggering something up. My kids have figured it out. Denon, Pioneer, Ya
