Really good receiver

I have had this receiver for about a week now and it does exactly what I need it to do. I am not one of those people that needs the ultimate surround sound experience. I just like things in my small gameroom to be loud and clear, and this receiver does...

Great receiver!

In short this is a great receiver for the price, I got it on sale for about $175 and am not regretting the purchase at all. Also if you do buy this, a word of advice: You have to hit the AVR button on the remote before it will allow you to access the...

-Great sound -A lot of customization settings -can connect to a home media server -sub pre-amp -5 channels of surround -Lots of power -Completely 100% silent (other than a really quiet buzzing for about 5 seconds after being turned on). It's passively...

-The composite video in DOES NOT convert to HDMI. In order to use composite video in, you need to use composite video out. This was a bit of a letdown as I was excited to use this to hook up to my old game systems to my computer monitor. I would say it...

Awesome deal

My final thoughts, it's a good deal for the crazy Low price I paid and it has plenty of clean power. I don't have the top speakers, so keep that in mind. 2 ten inch subs polk audio, 1 large center channel Fluance, 2 Sony tower 3ways, 2 Sony side...

Okay so here's my take, I think for the price and features it's a no brainer, I used the auto set up at first, just to see how close it would get to the sound level settings I liked, it was Low, so I went back in the settings and manually set...

Okay now for the Cons.. My unit's fan on the back didn't work so I used a laptop fan and placed it on top of the unit and this thing NEVER gets hot. The on screen display looks Very dated as stated by my girlfriend and on line updates don't work...

Great Receiver

Would recommend to others

Use to DJ decades ago so i can appreciate this component's Watts, Frequency response and S/N ratio. Just perfect for a small to medium size room with good speakers! Either just left and right speakers or a 5.1 setup. Have used the radio, CD player and...

Manual could be more informative so take your time & learn how to use remote to setup system.

Performance is really good.

Yes, I would recommend.

Solid receiver with strong performance. Setup is easy Price, features.

Remote control could have been better, especially large Audio controls and Power buttons. Manual could have been little bit detailed on setting different ways of components. Bluetooth audio performance was too low.

Very low quality! Disappointing

I ordered this unit to update from my current Denon 7.1 to 7.2. I noticed a big difference in quality. My older receiver is much better than the HK receiver. The remote is useless (literally does not work after setup). I completed the setup rather...

Price & Advertised Specs

The packaging of the unit was not good. Looked liked a used unit. The remote control unusable by design. Receiver display interface is very dated.

Good but low power

I have several AVR's and this 1610 is the less expensive...and surprisingly has some of the best features for basic home use. Light, quick and easy to setup, does most things you want to do.

The two weak spots with the 1610 is lack of power if you really want "boom" and the less than ideal options and information you have when setting up the speakers. Of course it is 100's less so it isn't going to give you top of the line adjustments.

Interface is difficult.

We are too far into the information revolution for ANY device to have a user interface as bad as this reciever's. You have to run cat5 to the reciever, so plan ahead for that. If you have time to invest, I think it's fine. Planned to use it on my main...

It will do what you need. It's physically light. You CAN dim the glowing dial. The automatic speaker setup worked well. Sounded great.

The interface does not meet you half way. It's not intuitive. It doesn't have Wi-Fi. Buttons on the remote are all identical in size and shape, and volume controls aren't on a corner. The phone app is a little better, but can't be used at all without...

Nice features. LAN, HDMI 3D capable. Nice looking.

Died after 3 days. I did not keep the box so basically I'm out.

Very impressed!

The receiver set-up is a little tricky for first time users, just get time, relax and be patience when setting it, at the end you will get the sound results you want in this unit :)

Excellent unit, very lightweight than other A/V receivers i have owned in the past, sound is very bright and clear, I'm using it with my Energy set-up speakers CB-5 x 3, CC-5 and EWS-8 x 2 subwoofers, fit very well in my computer desk hutch upper...
