Receivers, Tuners, and Integrated Amps: Audio/Video Receivers: Harman Kardon AVR 7000

The AVR 7000 is a receiver built first and foremost for performance. In features, the AVR 7000 is strong, with Dolby Digital, DTS, HDCD, and Logic 7 decoding, which, as an alternative to Pro Logic, creates stereo surround channels from Dolby Pro Logic...

Harman/Kardon AVR 7000 A/V Receiver

Harman/Kardon understands this, and their flagship AVR 7000 A/V receiver gives them an interesting position in the product genre that they helped create. At $1,799, it's priced well below the flagship models of its main competitors, yet it has enough...

Harman Kardon AVR 7000 A/V Receivers

First of all, I must admit that this receiver was given to me at a family Thanksgiving party in 2011 by a lady who had it stored in her basement. At the time I was more into my vintage receivers of the 70's, so I felt rather indifferent towards this...

Harman Kardon AVR 7000 A/V Receivers

I bought my unit in Dec 2001 - this big old thing has been cranking away to this day and I'm still loving it - without any problems whatsoever. It cost AUD1650 back then and had been in demonstration unit, so well run in and tested before me, but sold...

Harman Kardon AVR 7000 A/V Receivers

Picked this unit up used for very little money, no remote but my Harmony was programmable. First con, Harmony does not include the code for OSD (on screen display), this would have made setting up the receiver so much easier. HK does keep the manual...

Harman Kardon AVR 7000 A/V Receivers

I'm guessing on the year as I am the second owner - original owner had this amp for three years, I've now owned it for almost another three years. Was in my AV room until I replaced it with a SONY DA5200ES in order to get HDMI connections.

Product Specifications

Designed as the engine for the digital entertainment systems of today and tomorrow, H/K proudly unveils their new AVR7000. Following the H/K tradition of "performance first", the new AVR7000 receiver provides unparalleled performance for the most critical listener. Each Harman/Kardon receiver is designed with the same high-current capability and ultrawide-bandwidth design criteria of the flagship Signature series, and the AVR7000 is the ultimate expression of that goal. And, every Harman/Kardon receiver is carefully engineered to provide the optimal combination of performance, control, and ease of use. The AVR7000 is the perfect blend of audio sophistication and performance, pleasing even the most demanding audiophile. Bringing both Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound systems to you, the AVR7000 puts the latest home theater reproduction technologies at your fingertips. Dolby Digital, DTS, and HDCD decoding, along with Harman Kardon's exclusive Logic 7 and VMAx modes provide surround options for all types of program material, while component video switching and a flexible multi-room control system provide the utmost in installation flexibility. From an icon-based display to a standard second-room remote, the AVR 7000 is unmatched in its class. Ultrawide Bandwidth design provides better high frequency headroom and therefore cannot be as easily overloaded. Component Video Switching allows you to run your component video signals through this receiver and still maintain component picture quality while gaining complete switching functionality. Crystal Circuit DSP Processing circuit provides superior digital processing of both Dolby Digital and DTS formats. Logic 7 Cinema and Music Surround Logic 7 is a Harman International proprietary technique developed by Lexicon for creating multichannel surround playback from two-channel sources, extremely beneficial for musical reproduction. Film soundtracks will have solid center channel dialog with outstanding clarity and intelligibility, better channel separation with smoother pans front to back and an exceptional transition from speaker to speaker. The built-in Digital AM/FM Stereo Tuner processes FM and AM radio broadcasts digitally, locking in on the signal for less drift and reduced distortion. It also allows for simple storage of station frequencies in convenient presets. Audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) recreates different sonic environments, simulating the acoustics of locations like arenas, churches, and clubs. Playing music through a DSP mode creates a more vivid, life-like listening experience. DSP delivers sounds sculpted to recreate the reflections and reverberations that make live performances so satisfying. Multi-Room/Multi-Source Capabilities extend your audio enjoyment throughout the home. Listen to two different sources in two rooms - DVD in one and an FM rock station in the other, for example - at the same time.
