Pipeline to Home Audio

The simplest way to get music from your PC or notebook to your stereo and maximize sound quality may be with a digital audio transcoder, a really smart cable that converts digital audio into a signal your stereo receiver can use. The Harman Kardon DAL...

I can get this to work directly out of Kazaa, it will play all of the files. Any that you copy off of CD have to be converted to an MP3 to play through this. For lack of a better option this thing is great. It is certainly a heck of a lot better than...

This product is virtually useless. It will not play all of your MP3's (this is acknowledged by HK in the installation instructions). What it does play, it will only play through Windows Media Player. HK claims on their web site that it will play...

"EZ"link.....not Easy!!!!

Sounded like the perfect go between my computer and my HK Receiver. I LOVE the 7.1 sound I get from the system, but the DAL150 only works with WM 9.0 or earlier. My computer had 10.0 and won't support DAL150, version 9.0 is no longer available, and...

This unit is great, but limited. If you just want to play MP3's on your stereo in your living room via Windows Media Player only. This unit is for you. Like most electronics in the past they tend to get replaced or outdated. An updated driver would...

Plenty of better options out there

Plenty of better options out there

These are going cheap these days and the main reason is that many computers now ship with built-in digital sound ports. If you have an older computer you can update the sound card to provide digital output pretty easily. The benefit of these other...

I had high hopes for this product since I was connecting to a Harman Kardon AVR receiver. I simply cannot get it to work!!! Absolutely dismal tech support, there is no indicator on the unit itself to confirm signal, unit comes with a 3' coax cable so...

Almost done....

It does not support Winamp only windows media player 7.1 :( If you lose the install cd you are SOL on getting drivers since they are not available from their website. Otherwise it is a functional product that works quite well and is easy to operate.

The maximum word limit for this review is 1,000 words, however, I think that this product deserves something short and sweet...Because that is how easy it is to hook your computer to your home stereo system! All my music is organized according to...

Product Specifications

Providing Power for the Digital Revolution is the broadly defined mission of Harman Kardon. The popularity of computer-based, compressed-audio formats, such as MP3, has created the need to add a new and otherwise incompatible component to home entertainment systems: the PC. Harman Kardon's DAL 150 EzLink fills that need by providing a digital link that connects the USB port of a compatible PC to the coaxial digital input of a receiver or processor. EzLink can convert an MP3 file or bitstream to PCM format for playback on many audio products. Your receiver may then process the selection using one of the many available surround modes, such as Logic 7. When used with a Harman Kardon A/V receiver, EzLink may be set to simply pass the MP3 bitstream through to the receiver, for onboard MP3 decoding. At Harman Kardon, the future is now.
