Great AVR unit.

Great AVR unit.

Great AVR unit. I have been using over two years now, no problems and fantastic theater sound in 6.1 mode. A little tedious to program, but worth the effort. My third Kenwood over the past 14 years.

Product Specifications

The Kenwood VR-8050 is ready to take your home theater up to the next level of performance! Six 100-watt amplifier channels have the power to play film soundtracks at realistic theater levels, while its K-STAT power transistors (a Kenwood exclusive) self-adjust to give you optimum sound quality at all times. A 32-Bit ADI SHARC DSP processor gives the VR-8050 incredibly accurate performance at all signal levels, from the loudest explosion to the most delicate musical passage. The receiver's sixth amplifier channel drives a surround back speaker for the latest 6.1-channel Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES 96/24 soundtracks, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx creates an incredible 7.1-channel experience with ordinary 2-channel sources like CDs, VHS tapes and even FM radio. Active EQ tailors the receiver's response to bring the best sound out of whatever type of speakers you have (full-range, satellites, etc) and the type of program you're listening to (Movies, Music, or TV). The VR-8050 has connections for 8 different audio components (including a turntable and a DVD-Audio player) and features Component and S-Video Connections for maximum video quality. The included Universal Pre-programmed Remote controls the receiver, your TV, VCR, DVD player, cable or satellite tuner, and select audio components.
