Marantz NR1403 & NR1603 Slimline A/V Recievers Preview

It would be easy to dismiss Marantz's slimline offerings as lightweight if they came from a different company. But they come from Marantz which has a pedigree as long as our collective arms. We know that they care about their receiver offerings and...

The Marantz NR1403 is a bare bones receiver with some of the best bones we've ever seen. With discrete amplification, tons of HDMI inputs, and Audyssey MultEQ, it is a new buyer's dream at $400. But if you want more, Marantz has it with the NR1603....

Broke After 6 Months

I bought this product in July of 2012 and had 0 complaints. Unfortunately after 6 months a problem developed. The receiver would overlay big blue boxes over the HDMI signal along with small green boxes of static. Additionally no on screen menus would...

Wow!

I'm no audiophile, but I do appreciate a good sounding surround setup. My old Harmon/Kardon finally bit the dust, so I wanted something relatively decent without spending a ton. Marantz has a great reputation and I liked the simplistic appearance, so I...

Small size, great price, great sound, lots of HDMI inputs

great receiver for great value

I knew the brand, but never had bought anything from them. the geek squad helped me make my decision. I have 5.1 surround so didn't go with the more expensive models. Setup is so easy with great wizard that helps you setup the speakers and subwoofer.....

Sutiably Impressed!

So far, so good. This unit does everything I have asked for it to do. I was worried about it being a little underpowered but it is not. I combined it with a set of Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Speakers, and the sound is outstanding. I live in a condominium and...

Excelent equipment

The equipment is very good, slim, easy to install with an on screen step by step setup. I use it with an Yamaha NS-SP1800BL 5.1 speaker system which was really cheap. The overall sound quality is excelent. I just miss a composite RGB for the Wii...

Easy to setup and use, great sound quality

No RGP composite input for my Wii

Amazing receiver

This receiver is amazingly good - I am thrilled with it. If you are considering it, look no further. I replaced a 55 watt per channel HK receiver, and the Marantz 50 watt sound quality blows away the HK. This receiver would easily outperform any...

Runs COOL - NOT hot !!

Hi Everyone, I've had the Marantz NR1402 for about 10 months and I love it. The newer model is the NR1403 receiver. It is essentially the same as the NR1402. You've read the other reviews for the NR1403, so I won't repeat those, but for me the most...

Great option for a cleaner look and limited height.

I have a cheap tv console and the shelving space is 5.5 inches high, so no AVRs would fit as they are all over 6" in height. Then I found Marantz, which is a high end receiver company that has a slim line of receivers. This receiver is a perfect height...
