Marantz PM6004

When word came around that Marantz had given its already well-reputed PM6003 integrated amp a design refresh in the form of the new PM6004, we found ourselves scratching our heads a little. The PM6003 was very well received; so, if it ain't broke, why...

Ample power ; Tight bass, transparent mids, warm-yet-detailed treble ; Phono pre-amp included ; Two sets of speaker outputs ; Source direct mode

Lacks muscle needed for deepest sub-bass ; No ⅛-inch input for portable media players

While we wouldn’t exactly call the PM6004 a budget component, it does offer a premium sound quality that has a way of blasting away its competition’s price-performance justifications.

Marantz PM6004 Integrated Amplifier Preview

When companies have sister companies with similar product offerings, it is often hard to distinguish between them. We get polite emails from marketing companies asking us not to draw the obvious connections between the two. We politely ignore them. But...

If the Marantaz PM6004 sounds like an Integrated Amplifier built for the high end crowd; it does to us as well. Until you get a look at the price. At $600 MSRP, the PM6004 is well within the reach of the masses. This is high end quality at big box...

Marantz PM6004 Integrated Amplifier Review

Integrated amplifiers are probably more popular than ever before. Today, many companies offer a one box, convenient solution loaded with features and requiring fewer cables / less rack space, which allows for full system control with just one remote....

Excellent product

I am not an audiophile, but like to hear music in clear natural sound rather than with artificially boosted bass or treble settings. I was leaning towards the PM5004 which I listened to at a local stereo store and liked, but was able to get this at the...

A Quality Budget Integrated Amp

For under $600 no integrated amp. is perfect. It has adequate power, good tonality and a functional remote. Far better than a basic stereo receiver and IMHO not far off my Rotel integrated which is about 5 years old, which sounds different, not...

Marantz PM6004

I was first introduced to the “Marantz sound” a year ago when I, jokingly, hooked-up my little 2216B receiver to my massive Polk Audio SDA-1B speakers expecting the sound to resemble that of a transistor radio. After all, how could an entry level, 35...

Marantz PM6004

Stereo amplifier Product of the Year 2011. A big step-up from the older 6003 version, the PM6004 is very tough ? if not impossible ? to fault at this price

Solidity and scale, but with precision and pace; excellent transparency

Again, nothing of note
