NETGEAR NeoTV MAX Reviewed

"N300" wireless, Easy setup, QWERTY keyboard on back of remote, Supports Intel WiDi, Large number of Internet content providers

Remote lacks page up/down navigation buttons, WiDi can be difficult to set up, DLNA only; no share browsing to access local content, Very limited video format support, No user manual, 2.4 GHz only

Media player primarily focused on Internet streaming services with support for Intel Wireless Display (WiDi)

Have 5 of them ... all good

there's a bunch of garbage apps, just like on most of these types of media servers.

the only problem I had with these was getting WIDI to work on my Lenovo laptop. The problem turned out to be the firewall (ESET) on my laptop. Once I made the WIDI software an Exception in the firewall, WIDI has worked great. I bought these mainly for...

It works

It set up fairly easy and does what it supposed to do, but is very slow to load apps. Accesses personal media as advertised, but is slow to load. I am dissapointed in its performance.

Not bad at all

These have the usual media apps on them, except no Amazon Prime. Most of the apps are junk on these media servers, but these Netflix units stand out for a couple reasons. First they are WIDI capable, so you can use them to project a WIDI capable device...

terrible product

Bought this on sale. Not worth the money. Slow And laggy. Locked up during operation changes. Video streaming from my WD my cloud was unwatchable. Didn't even play Netflix well. Spend a little bit more and buy something better.

Quit working during update

An update was available and it went into it's normal process. However, it quit working and I tried replacing batteries in the remote (twice), rebooted the device and reset to factory default twice. Nothing allowed me to use the streaming player again....

I bought this box for one reason.

I would buy this device again (and I have).

This device has a native SlingPlayer app, and it just works. I Sling my home TV to my sailboat, and that is my primary use case. I also use it for Netflix and to play the occasional local file, but those are secondary use cases

The local file player is not great. It doesn't play many codecs, and if local files are your primary concern, this may not be the box for you

Almost there

I received this refurbished item yesterday and it's going back to the store today. HDMI output did not work. I had to use the RCA cables provided thus making the quality and resolution of the screen very dim. When using the remote you have to click it...
