Onkyo TX-NR5007 AV Receiver Reviewed

Like all "00" models from Onkyo, the TX-NR5007 has enhanced surround fields with more speakers to create a more enveloping sound experience. When playing music, our reviewer found it "the guitar licks were lively and dynamic, with solid bass depth and...

The new Onkyo TX-NR5007 is a wonderful-sounding receiver with more features and connectivity than anyone could ever need. The nine channels of amplification are customizable to power a full 9.2 system in one room, or a 5.1 system for the main theater...

Onkyo TX-NR5007 AV Receiver Preview

The TX-NR5007 is the flagship model in Onkyo's current receiver line, also known as the "Double-0" series. The features 9.2 channel output allows for customizability in home theater setups. While a 9.2 speaker setup is possible, it's more likely than...

Excellent reference-level surround w/low distortion.

Excellent reference-level surround w/low distortion combined with superior video processing. All the HDMI inputs you will need for the foreseeable future - unless you plan on going to (notice I did not say 'upgrade to') 3D Updated on Jul 12, 2010

Every input/output needed for 9.2 pre-3D connectivity! Good on-screen setup. Clean sound in all processed modes, even when driving 4-ohm front speakers. Runs cool-warm with adequate ventillation

Universal remote is not as handy as Harmony One, but still not bad for an included item! HD radio not included - need to buy an additional component

I got this receiver and it works for 1.5 years, and the known "no sound" issue came out. I send it to repair shop and they found out it's HDMI board issue and need to be replaced. It costs me over $400. Onkyo is known for lots of problem on their...

Worked well for 2 1/2 years

A wonderful sounding receiver with a wealth of features. It was the hart of my home theater for 2 1/2 years until it stopped producing sound. The repair service explained that the HDMI board needed to be replaced to the tune of $500. To me this suggest...

Awesome features BUT REGULAR SOUND FAILURE!!!

This receiver has an ongoing problem with signal processing that prevents sound from getting to the speakers. Apparently this is an ongoing problem with Onkyo receivers. The firmware update supposedly fixes the problem but only temporarily. Board...
