junk

 

worked for about a year

horrible OSD that would only work once in awhile. network chip went out fairly early but still had sound. no sound no and is under warranty, they only offer a $100 trade in, so i have to pay the difference and take another chance on them as a company....

Onkyo TX-NR509

 

Nice receiver, but gets hot

The receiver died after exactly 3 years. It was only used about once a month for an hour or two. Daily use would have sped up its end-of-life much sooner

Onkyo junk

 

I have owned Onkyo products in the past and enjoyed them. This purchase was a bitter disappointment, especially when I started investigating this issue and found that there are many, many others like me whose receiver just QUIT suddenly.

Under warranty...great. Out of warranty...a pretty paperweight

No audio as soon as it was out of warranty. Pathetic. It appears this is a systemic problem with Onkyo. I will avoid this manufacturer in the future. Their best days are behind them

Good until failure - free repair

 

My 2nd Onkyo receiver. Last one lasted a long time and I only upgraded to this one because I needed HDMI support. Worked great, initially. But, one HDMI port died about 2 years in. Several months later, the audio stopped working altogether & Network...

Great sound & modes ; Easy setup ; Optical audio

Died after 2+ years ; Network apps are a bit archaic (though they work) ; Volume button on remote wore out after about 2 years

ONKYO FAILS AFTER 2 YEAR WARRANTY

 

Onkyo has well known quality problem. These receivers fail after the 2-year warranty. If you look at Onkyo ratings & feed back. here and throughout the web, you see the same thing over and over: We all loved our receiver, but it died after two years....

Lasts 2 Years

 

Offered a rich feature set at a comparitively low price point

The trade-off for the low-price point appeared just after the 2 year warranty expired---the audio quit across all of my inputs. Googling the issue, you'll find this is plaguing many owners at the same 2 year mark
