Ultimate AV: Onkyo TX-SR875 Surround Sound Receiver

But there are big changes in the air, beginning with the introduction of HDMI. A modern receiver without HDMI switching is now a dinosaur. And most, but not all, HDMI-equipped receivers can accept and process the multichannel digital audio that rides...

Clean, dynamic sound with excellent bass, Good video processing and transparent video switching, Onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio

Audio is slow to lock on after video link is established, Video circuits alter black and white levels, Automated Audyssey setup required some manual tweaking for acceptable results

Exces llent Sound for Blu-Ray Owners

I have never seen or found a better receiver that is capable of providing all of the sounds that any and all Blu-ray discs have to offer. Along with THX, and a Sirius sattelite radio hookup...you will never doubt spending the big $'s to enjoy this...

You won't believe the sound and all of the capabilities of this reciver, simply hook up your HDMI wire to one of 3 inputs and sit back and enjoy the best sound that you have ever heard

It is heavy and needs a large shelf to place the receiver, and it runs very hot, so leave plenty of space above the amp to allow the amp to breathe

Fire,Sparks, Fume and burning smell

I really love this unit.. take good care of it... really put this receiver in a well vented area and all. Beside that it almost put fire to my house.. Sparks and fume all over. I was devasted. Onkyo poeples almost being rude to me and don't want to...

Better Than I Expected

I bought this after planning to buy the Yamaha 3800. The Onkyo was replacing a Denon AVR5700 which was Denon's best in 2000. I wanted the HDMI inputs and the video processing. However I wasn't sure the ONKYO would perform as well as the Denon in the...

Reon video chip, HDMI inputs, amplifier

Remote control is OK, but not spectacular

Beautiful piece of equipment. Looks as well as sounds great. Absolutely no complaints. It does run hot (stock) but I've got a couple of 80mm fans on top and even in it's temporary home with only two inches clearance on top, it does fine. Would...

It does everything you could want

Expensive...but you get what you pay for

Dont be Fooled 875 Worth Every Penny

This reciever is the best high end reciever for under 2000 bucks. The HD processing is so precise it is scary. I'm hearing things in my Blu-Ray movies that I never heard with my Sony ES reciever. The upscaling on the HDMI is beautiful when going...

Amazing piece of AV equipment

Short of being a fully functioning computer and having ethernet access for software updates and streaming radio this thing has it all. With the HQV Reon-VX Video processing all your SD sources should look amazing and HD-DVD's and Blu Ray disc should...

Plenty of power / upconverts component to 1080P beautifully / Rocks the house on the radio

Does not try to smooth out HDMI in / Surround sound leaves you wanting more
