The product works well when it works.

The channel keeps dropping out. There are numerous posts on AVS Forums. Pioneer's service center refuses to recognize this and you will basically be out of pocket for this purchase if it doesn't work. Pioneer Warranty is very poor at 1 year. They have...

Better software for the HDMI switching. Easier to setup than the previous model. This model is a very different model than the previous model VSX1121

Great Receiver

 

I love Pioneer receivers and they're all I recommend to anyone!

Great receiver, easy to setup and lots of inputs! I have a huge media library so built-in DLNA support is nice. Apple device support plus Airplay support is awesome. iControlAV2012 is sweet, you can control the receiver right from your iPad!

No video support through DLNA or portable devices like iPads. You must get a higher level receiver for these features.
