Pioneer VSX-822-K AV Receiver Review

The heart of all home-entertainment systems is the AV receiver and if you mess that up, you're sure to get frustrated once you hit 'Play'. This is why you should always take time in figuring out just want you want from your AV receiver, be it simple...

REMOTE CONTROL I am not a big fan of this controller. It has far too many little buttons spread all across the surface of it and takes a long time getting used to it. Its range is reasonable and I didn’t have too much of a problem with it. I guess if...

Great performance but terrible connection and delay

I gave it a 3 star rating because when it works right it looks good. However I have a unique setup and now I am trying to sell this 1 because it simply doesn't fit my needs. The wife and I are in agreement that we need a 4K receiver just in case.. :)

Great audio, and video quality ; Lots of different ways to configure your home video

Huge Lag ! Loses signal all the time. When you turn it on it can take up to 30 seconds to get it working right ; Once I have my Verizon box on and change it to an HDMI channel it losses the signal

vsx recievers

I will never buy a pioneer product as long as i live..

It comes with all the bells and whisles ; Sound is great

The transistors are a known factor in these amps to go bad. so it you buy one it will not last long before it becomes a paper weight. I wish i would have read all the reviews before i bought this receiver. Pioneer knows the problem but hasn't done...

Video cuts out often

I had a refurbished model, but that is no excuse for it breaking after 3 months.

6 HDMI inputs ; Airplay ; works great with Xbox One

After about 3 months of use (right when my warranty ran out) the video signal would cut out for a second every few minutes. I could temporarily fix it by switching from one input to another but this no longer works ; I now have my HDMI going directly...

Does the basics, which is good.

Its a decent receiver, and I think this designed for the average consumer. Its not high-end, but it does what you need it to. It has mainly HDMI ports, though there is a couple composite jacks for legacy devices. If all you need is HDMI, then it...

Has the main audio formats you want ; Easy to setup (either manually or with included mic) ; Six HDMI inputs ; Airplay ; 3D pass-through

Cannot rename inputs ; Composite jacks don't get passed through HDMI to TV (a separate composite cable must be connected to the TV) ; No component inputs (but you may not need them) ; Poor 'network' menus ; No constant indicators for PCM or...

Great Deal on great unit

This was a $600 receiver when it came out a couple of years ago. I just need it for surround sound. I was using a 1980's stereo receiver before this. For a buck 50, how can you go wrong.

Low price ;) Has microphone driven speaker ; balancing and eq. Six hdmi inputs

Nothing really. I don't need a lot of special features. Maybe ; more expensive units have useful ones
