Pioneer VSX-920-K Receiver First Look

These retail for $229 and $299 respectively. The differences between the two are pretty significant and many might be able to justify the additional expenditure for the 820. The question is whether those same people might be convinced that spending an...

The VSX-920-K shares a lot of the features with the two lower priced receivers. Why shouldn't it? They offer a great foundation. With four 3-D ready HDMI 1.4 inputs, 110 watts per channel, and iPhone Certification, there is lot to like. The VSX-920-K...

Pioneer VSX-920-K

If you do not mind a few minor issues, such as lack of HDMI pass-through in standby mode or backlit remote, then by all means this is probably the A/V receiver for you. Some consumers have gone as far as comparing the Pioneer VSX-920-K to competing...

Great product and it's efficient on power

Price is good for the performance. Drives the neighbors crazy with my Klipsch B20's.

MCACC, DTS-HD, 3D HDMI switching. HDMI-CEC so when the TV goes off so does the amp and vice versa

Don't ask grandma to install, so many plugs. No DLNA for streaming with the rest of the home network

Excellent quality, great bang-for-buck

You cannot get better bang-for-buck than this unit. 7.1 surround, iPhone/iPod integration, excellent sound quality, superb 1080p upconversion/upscaling of your analog inputs, 4 assignable hdmi inputs, 1 hdmi output, auto calibration through MCACC, and...

high-end features at a budget price ; iPhone/iPod integration with nothing else to buy ; excellent sound ; high quality video upconversion/upscaling to 1080p for analog inputs ; 7.1 surround ; attractive unit

confusing remote ; not-so-good owners manual

Excellent surround sound

Great value for money

Excellent surround sound with digital source. Even simulated surround from a stereo source produces engaging effect. Lots of useful features

Analog source produce disappointing sound especially in stereo mode

Very pleased so far

Glad I have this receiver and can highly recommend it for the money. Get a set of great speakers from NewEgg (Energy 5.1 if you can get them) and rock the house!

Great upscaling - nice picture ; Excellent sound ; Great buy for the money

HDMI through is a little unusual to set up (I've seen reports that people can't get it to work, but I'm not going to mess with it) ; MCACC is archaic-looking ; Not the easiest receiver to set up out of the box, but it works well when you do get it set up

Great receiver for the price

I bought this to replace an Onkyo that was part of a 7.1 package. It works great with the Onkyo speakers, and has a really nice sound quality to it. The HDMI inputs have made my wiring job that much simpler. If I had it to do over again, I'd opt for...

Great price, 4 HDMI inputs, plenty of other inputs

On screen interface is very 8-bit in appearance, lacking built in Internet

Great deal! Good Reciever!

replaced a 10+ yr. old Kenwood 100w Integrated surround amp and I can say there is a night and day difference in sound quality. The Kenwood's 100w rating may have been rather optimistic as the Pioneer kicks out the jams cleaner and louder than the...

Easy to setup using Auto MCACC and included microphone. Lots of features and inputs/outputs. Exceptional FM sensitivity and reception for an a/v receiver using just the FM antenna provided ; Works like a charm! I bought this on sale Thanksgiving day...

As far as I can tell the Receiver has to be on and in standby to pass HDMI signal through to TV so you can use just TV speakers. Have tried all sorts of combinations and different HDMI inputs to no avail. Would like to be able to watch TV without...
