Pioneer VSX-920-K Receiver First Look

These retail for $229 and $299 respectively. The differences between the two are pretty significant and many might be able to justify the additional expenditure for the 820. The question is whether those same people might be convinced that spending an...

The VSX-920-K shares a lot of the features with the two lower priced receivers. Why shouldn't it? They offer a great foundation. With four 3-D ready HDMI 1.4 inputs, 110 watts per channel, and iPhone Certification, there is lot to like. The VSX-920-K...

Pioneer VSX-920 review

With this incredibly accomplished amplifier/receiver, Pioneer has really raised its game, gaining the coveted full marks in the process

Good looks and bold spec ; excellent auto set-up (eventually) ; exhilarating multichannel sound and acceptable in stereo too

Flummoxing remote ; can be bettered for DVD upscaling

Purposeful, focused stuff – this is a genuine contender and a must-hear

Awesome iPhone/iTouch control App ; Slick net tuner

Below par sound with congested bass ; Short of guts ; no front HDMI

Pioneer VSX-920-K review

The VSX-920-K is a fairly expensive AV receiver and it's one the most sophisticated we've seen. There are nine 140W speaker outputs, giving 7.1 surround plus stereo in another room. All video sources can be fed to the HDMI output, which simplifies...

Packed with unusual features plus all the ones we’d expect, but sound quality is a little disappointing
