Quad 909 review

Size is not everything here, as the 909 delivers a dynamic punch of sound to your ears with great clarity and quality

Even-handed sonic delivery with strong dynamics and fine resolution ; good build ; compact

Nothing of any significance

This classic power amp design is a class performer that’ll work superbly in a wide range of systems

Driving Quad ESL988 speaker pair from Cyrus source is just brilliant. Delivers everytime.

Reliable, smooth sound.

Lack of power switch on front panel.

The indestructable 909 does what any amp should aspire to do: simply sending through to the speakers a signal as pure as you're going to get at this price range. With loads of power in reserve to boot.

5 stars, without thinking or hesitating. Had Rotel RC 1070 and 2 x RB 1050 (biamped my speakers) but ONE QUAD 909 drives my speakers much better than 2 Rotels. Do not get me wrong Rotels were good but Quad is in a different league...

The best midrange at this price level. Bass and highs are excellent as long as sensitivity of the 99 pre amp auxilary inputs (A1, A2, A3) is set to 100mV (not 300mV and 700mV which is also provided as settings). Can go wrong with this.

None that I can think of.
