Okay

I use it to power two 6.5" Klipsch speakers for TV viewing. It does this sufficiently. Avoid if you want lots of volume.

Plays music through speakers. Cheap

Got hot and shut off after about 30 minutes of loud heavy metal. I never noticed any degradation in sound quality, it just turned itself off. Turned it back on at the same volume and it went right back off after a minute or two. Maybe a fan would solve...

Great for the price!

I use this receiver to power a couple of outdoor speakers on one channel and a pair or paradigm bookshelves on the other channel. I have it cranked WAY down when I play music outside and it sounds great. The features are pretty straight forward. It's a...

Sherwood RX-4109 Stereo Receiver

Overall it was disappointing. This is not typical of Sherwood products. I did not expect the tuners to work as well as my Scott 386 (1.7uV FM sensitivity),but they worked quite well. This would work ok with a pair of full size Klipschorns or top of the...

mechanically this unit worked perfectly out of the box. It had a good remote and Am and Fm worked ok. the power was substantial. The instructions tho sparse were adequate. The unit does not weigh as much as many of the other receivers I have owned....

The b contour is not as effective as the older sherwood units. unless you have a very good speaker system $500 per channel, the b is not distinguishable. I have owned several HH Scott units, a Fisher and an older Sherwood. All of these units had a...

Not Fabulous

Bought this originally to replace an old (late 1980s) Onkyo TX-902 primarily for the additional power...turns out I prefer the Onkyo by far...this Sherwood went into the shed for a simple outdoor system. The sound quality just isn't there, and I see no...

Price; Fairly Solid Construction; Nice Speaker Binding Posts; Decent Power

Sound Quality isn't great; power isn't what it should be for a 100WPC+ receiver, I don't like how everything's digitalized (volume knob, bass/treble, etc)

Worthless

Aside from the whole "defective" thing it was a pretty good receiver while it lasted. If you're willing to take a chance on it then it might give you good value for your money...or it might break after a week like mine did.

Cheap

Cheap, as in it stopped working after a week

<0.4% distortion, 98dB SNR, 20hz-100khz frequency response, and a built in equalizer all for less than $100

I use a Sherwood RX4109 to drive my k702s. It has a warm, vintage tone and drives them very well. I've tried actual, dedicated headphone amps, but I always find myself going back to this. <0.4% distortion, 98dB SNR, 20hz-100khz frequency response,...

Warm tone, everything about it except

Very, very slight, almost inaudible hiss

Very Acceptable

This is a very well appointed amp. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. I put my Ipod as a CD input, and it works very well. FM reception is very good. I use it with two 8ohm 75 watt rms speakers. I can turn it all the way up without any distortion....

Product Specifications

Unlike the budget stereo receivers now flooding the entry-level price points at dealers across the country, the Sherwood RX-4109 is designed and built in-house with the same quality and attention to detail the company has been bringing to its audio gear for the last 50 years. With 105 Watts RMS per channel, phono section, binding posts, a versatile remote control and switching for two pairs of loudspeakers, the only thing that bespeaks the word "budget" about the RX-4109 is its modest cost.
