Performs very well. Ample reserve power. User friendly.

I needed a basic 2 channel stereo AM FM receiver for my home office. The Sherwood RX-4109 was the perfect choice for this application. My office is 12 x 14 with an 8' ceiling. An area rug covers most of the floor. The RX-4109 powers a pair of Insignia...

Ease of set-up. Significant reserve power. Response to bass/treble controls are clearly audible. Good tuner sensitivity. Full function remote. Above average design and operation of front panel controls. Capable of handling the entire audio spectrum

Lack of signal strength meter or bar. (The front panel display will indicate "ST TUNED" when the correct frequency is reached.)

Mine works great after two years

It does what I need, it turns on every time, hasn't failed ever for two years now, it runs very cool.I think it lives up to it's name. I recommend this unit and for the price it's a steal.

It still sounds great, although I should upgrade the speakers,I have the turntable, dvd/ cd player, and my Zen hooked up,it meets all my needs and then some

I just think of any

Probably taking it right back to RS tomorrow. Greatly disappointed in an old, respected name selling this product. Should have known when I saw the price.

A-B speaker function because we live in Fl. and spend most of our time on Lanai

Receiver functions are aukward. Scan for stations to select is poor. Sensitivity is not as good as the 19yr. old unit it replaces. $200 Yamaha speakers are too good for this unit.Setting the tone is a pain without having the customary "Bars

FM receiver is very bad in strong signal metro area.

The FM receiver overloads and other strong channels overpower the channel I wish to listen to. so I get 2 channels at one time.

inexpensive

Receiver overloads no selectivity

Great buy for the price

Only issue is the loss of presets if AC pwr is off for more than 24 to 48 hours. I am in a hurricane area that is susceptible to longer outages. Was operational 15 minutes out of the box.

Unable to access many FM stations

Arrived quickly, installed easily, but unable to access local FM stations - "dead" silence; not even statically (although some are).

Great for the price!

I use this receiver to power a couple of outdoor speakers on one channel and a pair or paradigm bookshelves on the other channel. I have it cranked WAY down when I play music outside and it sounds great. The features are pretty straight forward. It's a...

Product Specifications

Unlike the budget stereo receivers now flooding the entry-level price points at dealers across the country, the Sherwood RX-4109 is designed and built in-house with the same quality and attention to detail the company has been bringing to its audio gear for the last 50 years. With 105 Watts RMS per channel, phono section, binding posts, a versatile remote control and switching for two pairs of loudspeakers, the only thing that bespeaks the word "budget" about the RX-4109 is its modest cost.
