Yamaha RX-V667

Excellent sound quality; six HDMI inputs; best-in-class graphical user interface; analog video upconversion; audio return channel supported; standby pass-through; 7.1 multichannel analog inputs; 3D compatible; second-zone functionality.

Requires $100 dock for iPod/iPhone connectivity; no minijack input; more expensive than some competitors.

Yamaha's RX-V667 is one of the best midrange AV receivers of 2010, with excellent sound quality, a best-in-class user interface, and more connectivity than its competitors, but it may be more AV receiver than you need.

Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver First Look

If you take a closer look at the specifications between the RX-V665 and RX-V667 you will see just how much Yamaha has beefed up the latter and at a very small and worthwhile cost adder to the consumer.

From soup to nuts, we like just about everything we see with the new Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 A/V receiver. I do miss their signature frontpanel orange display found on their older models but that's just a personal preference. Yamaha updated their new 07...

"Outstanding Home Theater Receiver!"

CNET Editors make great picks, and the Yamaha RX-V667 is no exception. I got a Roku and an Apple TV for Christmas 2010, and my TV lacked sufficient interfaces to connect all the new devices. So I went to CNET, found this recommendation, and bought it....

Great audio quality, Great picture quality, Lot's of device interfaces (including 5 HDMI), Easy to navigate on-screen user interface, Plenty of sound options, seems to be compatible with everything, works right out of the box, worry free.

None so far (8months and counting).
