Yamaha RX-V667 review:

In recent years, Yamaha's AV receivers have disappointed us, with fewer features than competitors and some confusing design choices. The Yamaha RX-V667 is a return to form for the company. There can be no complaints about HDMI connectivity, with the...

Excellent sound quality; six HDMI inputs; best-in-class graphical user interface; analog video upconversion; audio return channel supported; standby pass-through; 7.1 multichannel analog inputs; 3D compatible; second-zone functionality.

Requires $100 dock for iPod/iPhone connectivity; no minijack input; more expensive than some competitors.

Yamaha's RX-V667 is one of the best midrange AV receivers of 2010, with excellent sound quality, a best-in-class user interface, and more connectivity than its competitors, but it may be more AV receiver than you need.

Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver First Look

If you take a closer look at the specifications between the RX-V665 and RX-V667 you will see just how much Yamaha has beefed up the latter and at a very small and worthwhile cost adder to the consumer.

From soup to nuts, we like just about everything we see with the new Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 A/V receiver. I do miss their signature frontpanel orange display found on their older models but that's just a personal preference. Yamaha updated their new 07...

Yamaha RX-V667 7.2 Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver Preview

The RX-V667 is sure to be a hit among budget minded A/V-philes craving legitimately good performance for little out of pocket expense. Discrete amps and 3D processing for under $600. Wow!

Yamaha RX-V667 AV Receiver

Yamaha has made some interesting choices in its new receiver.

Yamaha has adopted a very strong audio focus for this receiver, to the extent of excluding some new tech extras. It works like a far more expensive receiver, thanks to the GUI that the other two lack. It supports traditional audio sources, including a...

"Powerful, versatile receiver"

I have owned this receiver for about a year and am very impressed. To focus on some points not covered in the review, this unit offers a 7 band parametric equalizer that is adjustable for frequency, gain, and Q (how broadly or narrowly the equalization...

Gosh I love this receiver !

Had this receiver for quite a while now. I thought I had a problem with the first one shipped to me. RMAed it to Newegg, swapped in the second one - same issue with bluray player. I then swapped out the bluray player with a different brand and model...

1. Refurbished on sale cheap ! Yay Newegg ! 2. Works as the owner's manual describes. 3. HDMI switching works well ! 4. Never had Yamaha before - but it sounds pretty darned good - better than the 17 year old receiver it replaced. 5. I was able to...

1. It was not free. 2. No blinky lights.

Update 12/6/11

Love it even more now. Upgrading the cheesy blu-ray for Christmas.

Update - found out after returning the first receiver that the issue was with my cheesy blu-ray player, NOT the receiver. My fault for not troubleshooting more in depth until now. Swapped out blu-ray with diff brand and model and problems I was having...

The only con is that I didn't think through troubleshooting enough the first time. Dangit!!!!
