Samsung HW-C700 AV Receiver Review

With the advent of Blu-ray players and advanced, hi-def gaming systems and all that they require, it has become increasingly important to have a centralized unit that can handle not only the latest audio formats, but also the centralizing of your HDMI...

Slim ; 4 x HDMI inputs ; ASC button controlled auto sound calibration ; Can pass through 3D video ; Full HD audio support via HDMI ; Includes iPhone/iPod dock with video support ; 2 subwoofer outputs (parallel)

No input level control ; No Audio Return Channel ; Difficult to find tone controls ; No on-screen menu ; No analogue to HDMI video upconversion ; No AM radio

great product with crisp highs

If your wanting something that has hdmi out and 4 hdmi ins and decodes everything this is a great receiver for you. I love the way it looks so modern. Everything is hidden. Only thing i can say is a great receiver and for under 300 you will not beat...

Hooked up and i was blown away by the sound from the highs. Gun shots sounded great and everything processed the way it is supposed too. Had no problem hooking up at all. 3d ready, 2 subwoofer outs, 7 channel, dts hd, dolby true hd, under 300 buyit

Remote is not the best but after you set everything up right the remoter should just be for turning up and down or switching what your watching. A little tricky when changing setting but after you figure it out no problem. took me a few minutes

13.2 lbs of low quality junk

Don't waste your money...buy a Denon or other reputable audio manufacturer. For the same money you can buy a Denon AVR-1911 that produces quality sound.

Looks good. Great for tone deaf people and those replacing their last plastic home theater in a box

Power rating is misleading since it doesn't state if it is "peak power" or RMS power. Power rating given 120 watts at 6 Ohms which makes it seem like it has more power than it does at 8 ohms that would be 80 - 90 watts. Most receivers are rated at 8 ohms

Compatible bluray player wont send video anymore

Takes tons of time to set it up. Mine stopped sending video from the bluray player (all new compatible samsung tv, av, bp), but no audio-whick is actually very good-. No clue how to fix it. Might end up returning the product. Updated on Jan 2, 2011

Good sound

Difficult to operate

Very Nice Sound

Good product from Samsung

Price, Quality, Power Soung

I don't know

Consumer review by:

Great receiver with all the right decoding options.

This receiver does not have all the bells and whistles of higher priced receivers. It does have the user adjustable features that allow you to tweak just about everything although the only thing I changed after the auto setup was to turn up the volume...

Easy setup and great sound. Simple modest styling

Slight sound delay when switching video inputs. Can't rename inputs

Skip this product

The power rating is WAY exaggerated. How can the entire box only consume 125 watts yet somehow magically produce 120 watts x 7? With 2 small children at home I would never get to find out how much power this unit has or not but I hate when something...

Low price. Full list of features

If you look around the web for other reviews you will find many complaining of reliability. Mine lasted for 24 hours and died
