Decent while it lasted

I bought this unit and hooked it up to four 8 ohm speakers. It worked well for several months. It didn't sound bad for a cheap receiver. After several month, it failed to power-up. It was well past the return period but I contacted Sherwood customer...

Cheap, good customer service

Didn't last long

Going to make a new antenna for the system, which then I'll have no problem. Kinda fun making them too.

Does what it's supposed to do. Have it hooked up to an old Cre@tive 5.1 which seems to work pretty well

The main reason I'm using it is to sync up am/fm radio with football and baseball games. The antennas that come with it for both am and fm aren't that good a quality, but then again nothing you get that's stock is ever good

Good value

Very good value and performance. Access to features OK but could be better. Overall, very satisfied.

Easy set-up and fantastic performance

Just about the best receiver I have ever had and at $99.99 an unbeatable deal. Hook was easy for my T.V. . Don't get left out; buy it now.

better then I expected

For $100, it's exactly what I needed. Not powerful enough to run my speakers at full power, but that's what I get for getting Theater Research speakers given to me and not being able to afford theater research receiver. Sill pushes what I have better...

Left channel blown.

I know this thing was cheap, but I do expect A LOT longer life than 3 months with VERY LITTLE USE! Very disappointed in this receiver, did not want to spend the extra $100 or so for the a better receiver since all I do is play my drums to it, wish I...

Cheap and worked for a little while

LEFT CHANNEL BLEW OUT!! I bought this thing as a cheap replacement for my JVC reciever that I play my drums to. I have large speakers and need to turn them up (around 48 on this thing) so I can hear the music I am playing to. I used this thing about 10...

good deal!

A great deal on a great product. I doubt you will find something cheaper with the features and a remote. A great buy!

Very good deal

For a sub-$100 price, you can't beat this receiver. It's surely not a high-end piece of electronic equipment, but for a modest application (my office in my case) it does the job just great. The remote is a great feature. One complaint was a cosmetic...

Product Specifications

In modern, surround sound driven audio universe where home theater enthusiasts hear airplanes fly overhead and bombs exploding around them, one might think that mere Stereo is old fashioned. But don't be mislead - humans have only two ears and stereo is still a significant life form. The case in point: the RX-4105. It's actually an update of the market leading RX-4100/4103. Rated at 100 watts, Sherwood Electronic has reduced distortion significantly. It's now less than 0.20% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The RX-4105 has a good AM/FM tuner with the ability to pre-set up to 30 favorite stations. It has inputs for 4 audio sources to accommodate your sound gear. And the sound is phenomenal - as you'd expect from a company that dates its own existence to before stereo's birth. And the RX-4105 has at least one unexpected grace: the ability to independently select up to two sets of loudspeakers via the supplied remote control. (Audio purists will be pleased to know that this relay-controlled switching puts the speakers in parallel, maintaining their individual sound qualities.)
