Slingbox 350

Before there were "TV everywhere" apps, there was the Slingbox, a groundbreaking product that allowed you to stream your home TV signals to any PC or connected device on the planet, so long as you had the available bandwidth. After something of a...

The Slingbox 350 streams video from your TV or DVR (or any analog source) to your PC, tablet, smartphone, and some streaming boxes at resolutions up to full 1080p HD. IR blasters are built into the box’s body, eliminating the need for annoying extra...

Smartphone- and tablet-viewing apps cost extra. Unlike the step-up Slingbox 500 model, this one lacks Wi-Fi and HDMI support. It duplicates some of the features found on TV anywhere apps you may already be using. As always, streaming capabilities are...

The Slingbox 350 is an excellent way to watch your TV or DVR video content anywhere.

Slingbox 350

It's hard to believe that the Slingbox has been around for seven years, but that only makes it harder to accept these are the first retail models that have been released since 2008. That finally changes today, though: Sling Media just introduced two...

1080p streaming ; Built-in WiFi ; Planned software updates will add functionality

HDCP makes HDMI inputs less than useful ; No integrated ATSC or QAM tuner ; Only integrates via IR

The 500 costs as much as the older Slingbox Pro-HD, but doesn't do much more, save for streaming over WiFi. Most users would be fine with the cheaper Slingbox 350 instead.

"Buyer Beware!! Slingbox Software updates are a scam!"

If you are considering buying a Slingbox PLEASE do your research before you buy!! A good place to start is slingbox's own answer forums ( ). Search for "firmware update" or "software update" and you'll find dozens...

Allows place shifting for the period of time the warranty lasts.

Slingbox has a habit of sending out software updates after the product is out of warranty which causes the product to stop working. Owners are then forced to either pay $29.95 for tech support or embrace their newest paperweight.

"Invades your privacy!"

I regret purchasing the product.

No hardware complaints.

They keep tabs on way too much personal data. The mobile app even keeps track of all the phone calls you make. This is totally unnecessary for this app to work. The web app keeps track of the web sites you visit as well as much other data.

Great, assuming you can live without the Wifi

A great option if you don't want to pay for cable or just want to view your own connection elsewhere.

Pros ; Free TV anywhere you have internet assuming you have a friend / relative or your own home connection ; Ridiculously easy to setup ; Good signal quality ; Includes everything needed to setup ; Mobile device viewing works well and isn't too rough...

Must have cable box within cabling distance to Ethernet port ; Only one remote viewer can use the box at a time ; I only have 4 mbps down, so remote viewing is rough ; Video lag makes using DVR / ondemand / guide functions a little tedious but as long...

Very dissapointing. This ones going back. I cannot recommend anyone buy this until..(see cons)

I would say someone has taken over this product/company and doesn't use it for them selives other wise this would be released to the public. on a lan it horrible, until they fix these issues please don't buy it.

Setup was quite easy ; My primary reason for buying this was to stream our ReplayTV to the iPad so we don't have to have a tv every we want to watch it, aroudn the house

When viewing a show, it streams out on the internet to the device you're watching. that's great until you're back home. It will still chew up your internet connection both ways even when the viewing device or computer is local (on the same lan) as the...

It Works. Buy this Product.

I'm amazed with this product. It is so nice to watch my cable HD programming on my iphone. I watch while in the backyard, at work and on the town. I love it when you're on vacation and can still watch your cable programming instead of the limited shows...
