Silly HDMI on-screen display modes. Instead of overlaid menus, it has a dedicated menu mode at a video rate unrelated to the current video source. So DVD video gets blanked while you change receiver settings ; Why on earth would an HD receiver only...

Good A/V but problem with iphone app

 

The sound and the performance is good. The main problem is about the iphone app and the new firmware update. Both only work in the US version of the machine. I live in Europe (as many owners of the A/V) and the iphone app is not update it since May...

Sony drops the ball

 

I think it's stupid that Sony made an iPhone app to control this receiver before making an Android app. Last month 17.2% of the smart phones sold were Android phones while only 14.2% were iPhones. Also Sony sells Viao computers that don't run Mac OS so...
