BUY if you can find one (do NOT buy from the merchants here)

Long story short: Buy the RX-A810 (if you can find one), instead of the RX-A820 which skips over HDMI from a PC. See my review of the RX-A820 here for more details, and do not buy it. Try to find an RX-A810 locally and get a much superior receiver. One...

Great Product.

I bought the a-810 to replace my HTR 5790. Mostly because I had no HDMI and was lacking 3d pass through. Now this isn't a review for the HTR but I have to say for a product that was THX certified and cost about 900 in 2004 I'd say this was a huge miss...

Excellent Home Theater Receiver!

Pros: Excellent A/V quality on all sources including compressed music (mp3, aac, etc.). Intuitive menus and easy to change settings. The YPAO mic is a great starting point for calibrating the speakers in your room. Feature rich supporting all the...

Options Options

read manual, much to this system than meets the eyes but not for the weak hearted in reading manuals

Many many options ; This is a jack of all systems ; Handles it all from Gaming, Classical, Heavy Metal, to Star Wars: New Hope on a soft note ; If you want to get the maximum for the minimum dollar this is the best ; See cons

If you are a die hard audiophile you will like this but if you really need serious power I would recommend the next level up. System has a nice smooth system for those that enjoy the quality but if you want some serious SPL or harder bass I would not...

Truly Wonderful!

I was a little concerned that firmware updates might slow me down when turning the unit on (as in my LG BluRay player) but so far it has not been an issue at all. I understood I had to choose between using the internal 6th & 7th amps for Zone 2...

Every time you buy something new, there are "surprises?" Well, no exception here - except that all of the surprises have been good news! I love the connectivity to both the internet and my own music/video/picture libs on my PCs. Pandora has been...

Might be an issue for some - no wi-fi. But my house is completely wired and I prefer the performance of hard-wired anyway ; The on-screen navigation when connected to a PC in your home network is a little clumsy through the remote. A little k/b would...

Just fell in love with music all over again

I just fell in love with my music all over again! I am running this thing straight out of the box. Have not even used the automatic sound level adjustments yet (YPAO). I did do some manual adjustment, but then put it back to stock because it was better...

Hi Five with this receiver, superb sound and superb channel separation!! only downside is the power, but it has enough kick for theater purposes.
