Yamaha RX-V467 AV Receiver Review

If you want to experience true surround sound you're going to eventually have to step up to a true AV receiver. While you can get by with one of those all-in-one systems or simulated surround like many sound bars and televisions can get you, the real...

Yamaha RX-V467 Receiver First Look

Yamaha's new line of receivers have hit the ground and they are pushing 3-D. It wasn't a month or two ago and HDMI 1.4 connections were practically unheard of. If you want all the latest and greatest that HDMI has to offer, you're going to need HDMI...

From a pure user standpoint, the RX-V467 is light years better than then RX-V367. For $379 (a $120 premium) you'd expect as much. The native decoding of HD audio and YPAO room correction are welcome additions and should make the RX-V467 very user...

Yamaha RX-V467

Yamaha is no slouch in the AV receiver market so can we expect good things from the 3D-ready RX-V467?

Good audio quality ; Affordable ; Relatively well-featured

No 7.1 audio decoding ; Lacks video upscaling ; No on-screen interface

Also on the back are two sets of component video inputs, four composite video inputs, four analogue stereo inputs and four digital audio inputs (two optical, two coaxial). Outputs include component video, two composite video, stereo audio and pre-outs...

Black out

Perhaps this was not a good value and am disappointed that perhaps the best components were compromised. Not yet sure what my options are for correction.

Attractive, good value, plenty of punch. Arrived fast as Newegg usually does

Vidio pass through via HDMI in 2D is a problem. In every 4-5 hours, vidio drops out 5-6 times for about 8-10 seconds with totally black screen and then returns. Audio continues ok. Before I diagnosed it to the V467, I am now at the 60 day mark, 30 days...

Great Receiver

I decided to buy a lower price Yamaha unit this time because my last two (a Denon and Onkyo) died after 2 years.

Good price. Sounds as good as my previous receivers that cost twice the price. It's also a bit smaller in size compared to other similar units

I wish the remote could be programed to turn on all my devices with one button like my old Denon did ; No USB port for firmware updates ; Firmware update is needed for 3d support (must use a cd) ; No onscreen display

Terrible support

None

Nice look, 4 HDMI inputs

Terrible customer service. No phone number to contact Yamaha. You have to do 2 firmware upgrades to get to the 3D passthrough. After the first firmware upgrade to v017, after following the instructions to shut off after it states power off, the unit is...

Very happy with this set

I bought one of these for my sister a few weeks ago and was so impressed with it that I bought one for myself to replace my dead H-K 320R. I'm running it to a Samsung 4051D TV and a pair of Infinity Entra One fronts and an Entra One center and 2 cheap...

I live in an apartment so I can't use super loud volume levels. This fills my 12 x 24 living room nicely and at normal listening volumes I can still hear music fine in my bedroom or kitchen. Music also sounds nice at very low background levels. Movies...

I had a difficult time trying to find a con, but here's one. The first time I switched from DVD to FM tuner the sound was so loud it almost blew me out of my chair! After adjusting some settings that doesn't happen any longer, but I still lower the...

Love it.

Great sound quality for a budget receiver ; Handles audio and video switching easily ; Built-in tuning program, with microphone ; Ipod docking station, is optional but integrated nicely, into the remote

Display is lackluster....but only in a minor way ; No Manual, just a .pdf
