OK, just not what I expected!

Could have saved some cash and just bought a basic MCE remote.

Works out of the box and comes with 1 IR blaster

Says in the description AND ON THE BOX that it can control your TV (Power + Volume) - This is NOT true. There is another model (haven't found it yet) that has 2 power buttons on it. It also has learning functions to learn and control your TV, but...

A must have for a Media Center PC

There isn't a separate TV button, but not the end of the world. I wish it was back lit to see the buttons in the dark.

Works on Windows 7 right out of the box. Range is great. The remote has all the buttons a person could use. Programming is easy. Stylish and looks like a regular remote. Compliments my Media Center setup which is as close to a regular set-top-box...

Works well in Linux (lirc)

The first thing I did after getting this item was void the warranty! Cracked open the remote, pulled out the Windows logo button, scraped off the logo and replaced it with a Mythbuntu logo. ;) Also, for those who may be interested: the pod pops open...

This remote has been virtually plug and play for me in Mythbuntu 10.10. It plays very nicely with lirc and is completely configurable. The default button mapping set up by Mythbuntu has worked okay, but I will likely start playing with options and...

As others have stated, the product description is a bit misleading. The remote is not a learning remote. The receiver pod simply has a couple of ports for IR blasters, which can be run up to a set top box (or supposedly some other devices?). I have...

Does not control TV power

I should have reviewed the feedback more as I would have not purchased this one due to not being able to turn my TV power on/off. My favorite is still the Microsoft remote that can control TV power, too bad it isn't available anymore.

Does an excellent job of controlling win7 media center

Buttons a little too close compared to the Microsoft remote, constantly hitting two buttons at once. Too light and tall. This model does not control TV power like is stated in the details

AVS Gear GP-IR02BK Vista 2 channel IR Remote Control

it took a fair amount of tweaking to get this thing to work corrently in linux, so I wouldn't try it unless you know what you're doing. I had to blacklist the kernel drivers to get it working.

This remote works well with windows and linux. I'm using it to control xbmc via eventghost in windows, and lirc in linux. The IR blaster works to control my receiver. I tested the ir blaster on my tv and it works with that as well

wish it came with 2 IR blasters

Works well with Mythbuntu Linux

If you are looking for a remote to work with Mythbuntu 10.10, this one works great. I set Mythbuntu to work with a Windows MCE remote, and everything except for one click access(white buttons) worked immediately. You have to set up the one click...

False advertising

I feel cheated.

It controls my HTPC

The specifications states that it can power your TV but that is completely false

Oh yea!

I recommend using Beyond TV software and their remote for if you are looking for a great solution to recording TV/Cable

Works well no issues

Not really a con, but it could have a built in mouse like the old ATI all in wonder remotes! That was the heat
