Harman/Kardon TC30

Essentially, the Harman Kardon TC 30 has the look and feel of an elongated Logitech Harmony 550 paired with the better features (color screen, rechargeable battery) of the Harmony 720 . The TC 30 is about half an inch taller than the 720, measuring 8.5...

Take away the Harman Kardon label and the TC 30 is cross between the highly rated and sleekly styled Logitech Harmony 520 and 720 models. Like the 720, the TC 30 has a color screen, includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and docking station, and...

The remote could sit a little more securely in its dock, the Web interface may intimidate nontechie users, and the TC 30 works only with Harman Kardon's desktop software, not Logitech's Web-based interface.

Essentially a high-end Logitech Harmony remote sold under the Harman Kardon name, the excellent TC 30 delivers a larger color screen but maintains Harmony's same great features and ease-of-use.

Harman Kardon TC 30

Has your home entertainment system gotten so complicated that you feel like you've lost control of it? We all know the feeling”a remote for this, a manual for that, a heavy dose of frustration all around. The Harman Kardon TC 30 universal remote will...

"It's kinda quirky, but it works like crazy!"

Being able to turn on just the devices you need to watch TV, or a DVD, or listen to tunes, is terrific. Just hit the "activity" button, pick your activity, and the TC30 turns on only the devices you need. Amazing. (or, maybe I'm easy to please!!)

Well, right now, after re-formating my hard drive on the PC, I had to reinstall the TC30's programming software,,,,and I've made some changes that I have to reflect in my TC30's setup....but, I can't get the remote to talk to my PC. Bummer

My biggest complaint till today has been that the channel changing buttons are at the bottom of the unit, not in the middle. Everything has to be somewhere.....but they just seem awkward to get at. Screen icons/labels could use some redesign for clarity.

While I love the size and shape configuration of this remote I have to recommend that you look for another remote. HK has probably the worst technical support I have ever encountered. The software that comes with this is nowhere near as easy to use as...

Easy to program. Easy to use. Great Feel in the hand

Lost my install CD rom and you can't download the software from HK.com. You have to pay $12 to have another CD Rom sent to you

I love this remote. It replaced a Logitech 880. The 880 was too slow (i messed with timings to make it faster- but the lag was unbearable). Also- the 880 has no raised keys and is a delicate device (my 2 year old has dropped it a few times and the...

Product Specifications

There's a good reason that the "TC" in "TC 30" stands for "Take Control." This unique product does more than just operate single components; it dramatically changes the way you configure and use a remote control. Setup is done directly with the Web site, where plain language "wizards" recognize the brand and model of all your equipment and automatically send the right codes back to the TC 30. The TC 30 remote groups all the needed commands, including "Watch TV, " "Listen to CD, " "Watch a DVD" and "Listen to The Bridge, " into unified activities. All you need to do is look at the color LCD screen, select the icon that matches the activity, and the TC 30 does the rest. It's easy, it's fun and it makes operating otherwise complex systems a breeze.
