Logitech Harmony 650 Remote Control Review

 

We took a look at the Logitech Harmony 650, a universal remote control with interesting features.

Excellent ergonomic design ; Sturdy construction ; Excellent button layout ; Sensor turns it on when you pick it up ; Basic functions easily programmable ; Good color screen ; Batteries easily replaced

Time-consuming set up of logos for favorite channels ; Programming advanced functions a bit confusing ; Poor backlighting (Not all keys are backlit)

DO NOT BUY THIS REMOTE!

 

It has a ton of great features. Too bad they don't work. I have had the remote for three months and it has never worked properly. I have spent countless hours on my own and on the phone with tech support trying to get it to work properly.

Harmony fixed Samsung input problems

 

For two years my Samsung has defaulted to digital in.then we had to press input 3 times to go back to tv. If i missed pressing the button then the tv would default to wrong channel. what a mess. I actually hated my system and purposely did not use it....

This remote is incredible! I received it in the mail less than 30 min ago, and I already have it set up with my TV, A/V Receiver, Cable Box, and Windows Media Center. The software is easy to use, and when you first use the remote after disconnecting it...

I bought this to replace my Harmony 880 which worked like a champ for years. The buttons became unreliable over time due to drops, spills and kid roughness. After opening it up and fixing the buttons several times the family pushed me to buy a new one....

I had this for 6 months and all was well when the remote started resetting itself when it was even jiggled even slightly ; I wrote the Logitech help desk and they told me to upgrade my firmware. This is the instructions ; Kindly follow the steps below...

Skip this remote and get the one that has rechargeable batteries and charging cradle. It's only like 20 more.

Easy to set up. Works with all my devices and the buttons have a nice feel
