Love this thing in MythTV

Using 3 of these to control various ION net-boxes in the house which are running Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit. To map all buttons into MythTV, once LIRC is installed type irw. Press the button you want (example, the 'aspect' button in the top left). irw...

Basic functionality out of the box with LIRC ; Simple to make every button work in MythTV (see below) ; Nice big red LED in the receiver to show me feedback ; Feels solidly built, like I could throw it through the wall ; Buttons have a good feel

Buttons aren't back-lit

Linux Ubuntu 10.04

Avoid this remote for Ubuntu 10.04

Looks nice

This does NOT work with Ubuntu 10.04. The needed line, 'ID 1784:0011 TopSeed Technology Corp.' is not defined in module lirc_mceusb and the device will not function. This has been added in 10.10 and the bug filed in launchpad has been closed so they...

AVS Gear GP-IR01BK Windows Vista Infrared MCE Black Remote Control

Price. Works perfectly with XBMC (after a little tinkering and registry editing)

No backlight. (I can't really call this a con as I knew it didn't have a backlight when I bought it.)

perfect XBMC remote

Very highly recommended remote if you are doing an XBMC setup. works great

Worked like a charm right out of the box for my XBMC Live home theater pc setup. All the buttons do exactly what they are supposed to. Even get the 'click-click' sounds in XBMC without having to configure anything. Have had it 3 months, absolutely no...

Could use a backlight, and there are a lot of buttons

Works with XBMC Dharma out of the box!

Works out of the box with the new XBMC build, Dharma. No more configuring with config files (unless you want to). Good form factor, fits good in hand, slick little controller

Does not work for XP.

It would be nice if there was some sort of support website for this product. If there is I could not find it.

Seems to be good quality, and probably works with appropriate OS

Absolutely does not work with windows XP, do not buy this for windows XP. I spent 14 hours trying everything I could think of and find on the internet and this simply will not work on XP well at least the IR receiver won't. I should not have listened...
