Good enough

Bought from Ebay for like $15 or so. It does what I need. Nicer if it can glow instead of having to turn on the green backlight. Nobody care about the internal clock that it has. TV have that already. Can download the manual here....

Has a load of functions. Also come with a learning mode. LCD display. Backlight

Buttons lightup (not glow).4AAA batt. Internal clock drains batt constantly

Functionality, Rich; Reliability, Poor!

The controller was easy to program using the LCD screen. It was also nice that you could reprogram any button to a function of the original remote. I set up a macro button that would power on my tv, satellite, tuner and dvd player. There are drawbacks...

Macro buttons are very powerful when controlling multiple brand systems

Buttons stop working and require large amounts of force when being used

Not recommended

I am having some problems programming this remote.

Keys are backlit

Not enough memory Can not program the "clear" button

For me, they always break.

I bought my first RCA remote, last year and it was great! Until the Volume UP stopped working, of course it was 3 days after the weak warranty ran out, so I contacted RCA and they told me they couldn't do anything for me. I purchased another one...

Learning Features, LCD Screen, Plenty of Features

Mine always break, poor warranty

Does Everything!

I have so many stupid A/V components, I was getting fed up with all the remotes laying around! This remote was a godsend! The fact that it can "learn" from other remotes via infrared transfer was reason enough to buy this thing.

Lighted keys, macros, learns from other remotes via infrared

Limited learning memory, clock is unnecessary, battery drains quickly when using

Good remote but found much better option.

I purchased the RCA RCU810B remote control for approximately $42. I had 5 devices to control: JVC CD Player (12 years old), JVC VCR (7 years old), JVC TV (9 years old), Kenwood Home Theater Receiver (just bought), and a GO-Video DVD Player (1 year old).

User friendly, programmable

Can not be upgraded, poor tech support, limited memory for programming

Great remote, but...

First, some background. If you want to get straight to the review, skip down to the REVIEW section, otherwise you can read about what led me to purchase this remote:

Easy to set-up, plenty of device keys, macros, LCD status display

Button placement!!!, LCD is faint

It would be great if it worked.

I have a JVC TV, GE VCR, Sony DVD, Yamaha receiver, Motorola Digital Cable box, and an ancient JVC CD player, so my system seems to be a torture test for universal remotes. A few of the above components came with universal remotes, but these never work...

Good button layout, works better for my digital cable box than any other I've tried

Doesn't work for my Yamaha receiver and couldn't learn from the Yamaha remote

The perfect gift for a HT junkie!

I started getting serious with my HT and son ended up with all kinds of stuff (A reciever, DVD player, HDTV, Dish reciever, VCR, CD Player, ...) and all of them came with their quirky remotes. If you read the reviews of many DVD players, (incl. mine on...

Lighted keys! Easy to program, macro keys and many more

Can't find any

Solution for the remote control junkie...

I am a remote control junkie. In fact, I'm afraid to admit how many remote controls I've owned over the years. But now my long search is finally over -- I have purchased and RCU810 remote control from RCA.

Customization, comfortable size, macro keys

Button placement needs improvement
