WMC Remote Review

The learning feature isn't a true learning feature where you point the remotes at each other and one "learns" the others commands, instead it's done through WMC, but the end result is the same.

Easy to set up ; Cheap

No problems so far

Surprisingly Two Thumbs Up

At first I wasn't able to get it too work. Repositioned batteries and one clicked in further or the software installation took effect. Works great with windows media center. Just a little tricky to figure this out

Tricky, but I think it works

Does not learn other remotes

Do not buy this remote if you're looking for Media Center remote that can learn other remotes, this one does not do this.

Works with Xbox 360 right out of the box

I was under the impression this remote would learn the commands of other remotes. My plan was to use this remote to control the volume of my audio system which my computer is connected to. I also thought this would work with my Xbox 360 connected to my...

Perfect for XBMC on Linux

I purchased this remote to use with my HTPCs running Fedora and XBMC. Minimal configuration was required; All I needed to do was install lirc and the configuration file for the remote and XBMC picked it up. The remote itself is well constructed and...

Rosewill RHRC-11001

I got this to control my HTPC with my harmony one remote and after getting the remote settings down it works like a charm. Its too bad they don't sell an IR receiver without the remote since it is of no use to me.

Plug and play right out of the box

Works

Meh, was a shellshocker.

Windows media Center recognizes it fine, will wake the PC from sleep, or put it to sleep, some BIOSes will recognize it enough to power on from the sleep key if powered off, check you settings, try power on from USB keyboard

Button layout is poor, no BluRay buttons, that can be hacked around ; Not so much a remote, as a limited function multimedia keyboard ; The RHRC-11000 will work in Linux, this unit, the RHRC-11001, no so much, expect support in the 3.5 kernel

Missing buttons

What do you do when Windows 7 has missing features? You get a plug in or external application such as for Blu-ray disc support. What do you do when your remote has missing buttons? You get a different remote. But that makes the original one useless....

Good range, better receiver than cheaper models, has pictures, radio, music and video buttons that are missing from many competing remotes

Missing red, green, yellow and blue buttons for Blu-ray

Beats typical built-in tv speakers

It's worth the low price.

I was weary based on the reviews, but at this price I figured it was worth the gamble. Simple hookup with a spare optical audio cable. Sounds great: good bass, clear voices, and nice range. Came in like new condition

I have a Vizio tv so I was hopeful this sound bar would somehow attach to the tv. It doesn't; this is a universal sound bar, no special Vizio connection at all. Not the product's fault, so no egg off. It's tall so ideally you will have an open shelf...

Works great with WMC and HD Homerun Prime

Bought this to work with Windows Media Center on the computer in my guest room. Couldn't get a cable jack in there so I hooked up a HD Homerun Prime on my network and ran the channels through Windows Media Center on this computer. This remote makes the...

Easy to control

Can't close WMC with the remote, although you can put the computer into sleep mode
