Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

If you already own a Sonos Digital Music System, you'd better not pick up the brand-new controller unless you intend to buy one. The original touch-wheel controller is wonderful; the touchscreen model is absolutely irresistible.

Brilliant touchscreen user interface; brighter display with double the resolution of the original

Expensive; relatively short battery life

The CR200 touchscreen model is superior to the original Sonos controller in every respect.

Sonos CR200 touchscreen remote now available

Well, here we are at last, at the tail end of a tear-filled journey across controllerland, CR100 finally in the trash, iPhone app getting a little love on the side, and the CR200 at last providing a true, elegant touchscreen interface for ...

Review: Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

How do you justify a $349 Sonos hardware controller when you can get nearly duplicate functionality in a free iPhone app? Make it snappy, offer solid battery life, and gently tweak the interface.

Slightly larger than a deck of cards at 4.5 inches tall, 2.9 wide, and 0.7 inches thick, and bearing a 3.5-inch, 640- by 480-pixel color touchscreen display, the CR200 is significantly less bulky than the original CR100 controller. Below the screen are...

Sonos CR200 Touchscreen Controller Review: Better Than an iPhone

The next-gen touchscreen Sonos controller is here, and as strange as it seems to say, it's actually better than the Sonos app for iPhone/iPod Touch for controlling their multi-room music solution wirelessly. But it is expensive.

Sonos CR200 review

The Sonos Digital Music System has a lot of things to like, but the thing that grabbed people at its launch in 2005 was the controller: it looked a bit like an overgrown Apple iPod, complete with touchwheel navigation and a big, beautiful screen.

In essence, whether the Sonos CR200 is for you comes down to convenience and your wallet - and, of course, whether you own a Sonos Digital Music System. While the hardware controller is quicker to start up and has a longer battery life, you'll get most...

Sonos CR200 review

It's not often we review remote controls. But then few remotes do what the Sonos CR200 does: command all your different audio set ups over your house to play tunes, from wherever you are in your crib. Want to know if this touchscreen command centre...

Easy to use, and so gorgeous we'd want even without a Sonos

A must for Sonos newcomers but for a second remote, there are other options

Review: Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

The existence of that app basically torpedoed the CR100. After all, why pungle up $699 when, for $329, you could control your Sonos system with an iPod touch that just happens to also be an iPod touch? But the hardware controller is not dead to Sonos,...

Macworld’s buying advice. Having lived with the CR200 for a few days, I’ve gotten into the habit of using it rather than my iPhone to control my Sonos system. Most of all I appreciate its responsiveness, the subtle interface tweaks that allow me to...

Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

For $350 you can buy two iPod touches and use them for your controllers. Plus they play games and are portable. I decided to return my CR200 due to the poor battery life. On the plus side, it is faster and the screen is very responsive.
