Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

If you already own a Sonos Digital Music System, you'd better not pick up the brand-new controller unless you intend to buy one. The original touch-wheel controller is wonderful; the touchscreen model is absolutely irresistible.

Brilliant touchscreen user interface; brighter display with double the resolution of the original

Expensive; relatively short battery life

The CR200 touchscreen model is superior to the original Sonos controller in every respect.

Review: Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

How do you justify a $349 Sonos hardware controller when you can get nearly duplicate functionality in a free iPhone app? Make it snappy, offer solid battery life, and gently tweak the interface.

Slightly larger than a deck of cards at 4.5 inches tall, 2.9 wide, and 0.7 inches thick, and bearing a 3.5-inch, 640- by 480-pixel color touchscreen display, the CR200 is significantly less bulky than the original CR100 controller. Below the screen are...

Sonos CR200 Touchscreen Controller Review: Better Than an iPhone

The next-gen touchscreen Sonos controller is here, and as strange as it seems to say, it's actually better than the Sonos app for iPhone/iPod Touch for controlling their multi-room music solution wirelessly. But it is expensive.

Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

Sonos Controller 200 (CR200)

For $350 you can buy two iPod touches and use them for your controllers. Plus they play games and are portable. I decided to return my CR200 due to the poor battery life. On the plus side, it is faster and the screen is very responsive.
