Glad I found J&R

This is a must have for shooting any long exposure or macro shots. It also allows you to hold the flash meter or whibal card to set up your lighting. The remote function also lets you flip through your pictures when hooked to the tv to see how you did...

Works Great

I bought this for macro work but the sensor on my a580 is on the front of the camera. Best application is being able to include yourself in the picture. With all the buttons shown, only the shutter works with the camera, everything else is for TV...

It does not work

Perfect! Also works with the Alpha 550

I only use it for taking pictures. As a remote for watching pictures ... we\'ll see.

Not what I had hoped for.

Wanted to use it to fire off pole shots--but it doesn\'t work that way. Need to be in front of camera, and has limited range--only 5 feet in sun. Wish specs provided while I was evaluating this product were more informative.
