Compact remote control with slide-out QWERTY keyboard; uses Bluetooth wireless, which eliminates need for line-of-sight infrared; solid feel and good overall ergonomics; backlit keys; incorporates all buttons and same basic design found on classic TiVo...

Somewhat pricey; can't completely replace a full-featured universal remote control.

The TiVo Slide is a must-have remote for owners of compatible TiVo DVRs.

Full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with numeric keypad. Backlit buttons. Pocket-size. IR-learning remote. Bluetooth eliminates the need for line-of-sight positioning. 30-foot range

Pricey. Smaller size requires some finger retraining. Web site works just as well for searching and recording. Only compatible with TiVo Premiere and TiVo HD/Series 3 DVRs

"Disappointing overall. Too heavy, too sensitive."

 

If you use the TiVo features that required text input heavily, this remote is a big improvement. Otherwise, it is not great. It's a bit too heavy to comfortable use to channel surf. The buttons are so sensitive that it is way too easy to inadvertently...

The keyboard is great. The range is much improved.

Heavier than expected. Buttons are a bit too sensitive. Too easy to hit buttons by mistake when moving or bumping the remote.

Awesome remote!

 

I hesitated to pay the money for this remote, even though I really wanted the slide out keyboard. Search and peck with the regular remote gets old if you do much searching for movies or shows... But, after getting the remote, I can say it is WELL worth...
