Multi Purchace User

My volume buttons are going quickly and soon it will require more strength than I have for the button to activate. I just keep replacing these after a little more than a year of daily service. I know it and I love it, even after all these years, can...

I have owned and given away as gifts several of these remotes and I can say that they last, for me, about a year and then some of the buttons start to deteriorate. It takes ever increasing pressure to activate the button until it refuses to work. I...

Some buttons, other than the "favorites" at the bottom, do not accept alternate "learning", as in the channel buttons accepting a "volume" learning command. I have had some buttons, like the mute, accept "volume down" learning but no other button close...

Better than the reviews

The remote controls its replacing simply do not work anymore. Some keys work, some don't so this thing is essential. With HD TV channels like 4-1, standard explicit channel selection just doesn't work, though probably no fault to fhe remote control.

Lots of programming modes. I was a bit scared because some reviews said it wouldn't handle Vizio TVs. I have a fairly old one (though I don't think of it that way), a VX32L and I programmed it first using the Code Search method. It worked well enough...

The manual is not so great. I haven't had the patience to figure out the Favorites buttons

Awesome!!

I didn't purchase this from Newegg, only because at the time I wanted to order it wasn't in stock and had no ETA. This is about the best money I've ever spent on a piece of electronics. The ergonomics of this unit simply blow away the much more...

Unbelievably Low Price ; Great button shape/size/spacing/layout ; Excellent super-bright red backlight with button to turn on/off in perfect location ; Button assortment perfect for DVR, DVD, TV, and Receiver use ; Uses AA batteries (and only two at...

Back is a bit too slippery and the thinner top section doesn't help when you're using the buttons on the upper half. Should be curable with a thin stick-on foam applied to the back ; Built in codes could not control my JVC Blu-Ray player, but learning...

I'm not going to buy another TV just to be able to adjust the volume and change channels with one remote.

Inexpensive. Operates my Blue Ray player and Cable box

I bought this because my Cable box remote wouldn't control my Olevia HDTV. Neither would this Universal remote

Great Remote

Learns codes by pointing other remotes at it. Only universal remote I have seen that will operate Comcast "digital transport adapter" boxes

No problems

Terrific Product - Better Cust Service

I had pre-purchase questions about this remote and a $40 Logitech Harmony. Called Logitech first - 25 minutes on hold and I hung up - this was the SALES dept, I can't even imagine calling tech support! Called URC, live person answered on the 2nd ring...

Fantastic customer service - live person answered in 2 rings ; Fairly priced, terrific remote ; Great, easy to follow instruction manual written natively in English - not translated ; Easy programming ; Works flawlessly

This section should not exist for this product or this company

I really enjoy this remote overall, I would buy it again. For the price you pay it would be difficult to do better. Newegg again had the best price!

I LOVE having a single remote instead of the five I had before. Special function keys are nice. Light button helps in the dark. Macro function would be great to use. Learning mode is awesome. Signal strength is much higher than some remotes it replaced

Ergonomics; my wife consistently holds it backwards- design could have been better. In learning mode, several codes had to be entered multiple times for it to "stick" in memory. Some newer equipment and non-standard set pieces such as Seagate FreeAgent...

URC-WR7 - it works!

Wish it had discrete code capabilities so that I could select a source (DVD, TV, etc) directly. My Samsung uses a menu to select the input source and it's just too cumbersome to program that into a macro.

Nice layout. Buttons match features I need. I have programmed some macros and they're quite handy. LEARN feature works nicely for keys that do not automatically map

It found my Samsung TV, but I had to LEARN many of the features, such as the directional buttons, "select," and "input." It did not find my Sony AV receiver (STR-DH510) - had to enter in a 3-digit code

Works great and inexpensive

I programmed it to control my Samsung HDTV, LG Blu-Ray, DirecTV HD DVR, and Denon receiver. On average it didn't program about 2-3 extra buttons used for minor but important features. I used the learning feature for that and it works great. Buttons...

Backlight goes off 10 seconds after the last button push and it doesn't come back on when you hit a normal key. You have to hit the big light button at the bottom ; It didn't have discrete power on/off codes for my TV or Blu-Ray even though the remote...

Great little remote!

I am 1 floor above my router and a good solid 5-6 walls and this thing doesn't skip a beat. I don't normally review stuff I buy online but this was definitely worth a review.

1 pro for me is that it's fully backlit and #2 is that it's a learning remote. I needed a fairly simple learning remote because my Vizio sound bar can't be controlled by any other remote I had, but I wanted to make sure I got one that was fully backlit...

For $20, I really can't come up with any. You get what you pay for and honestly, for $20, you get more than you pay for on this guy
