Goodmans GDB300HD review

The Goodmans GDB300HD is a good Freeview HD box that does the job for a pretty small sum of money. At around £70, we think it represents a great deal.

Cheap ; Attractive menus ; Good picture quality

Slow to respond to remote commands ; Build quality isn't brilliant

The Goodmans GDB300HD may not be all that fast, and it's not made from the highest-quality materials, but it only costs £70. For the price, we think it's a steal. With BBC One HD launching soon, and ITV1 HD, 4 HD and BBC HD already available, there's...

A box that offers good value but suffers from operational flaws

Modern looks; well designed menus; bold, colourful picture

Lethargic remote control; average sound quality; no DD 5.1 sound

easy to install, stylish looks

turns off after 3 hours inactivity, system hangs quite easily, remote control a little over-sensitive

Can't believe it's a Goodmans

Finally got my Goodmans Freeview HD box after the delivery was delayed for a few days due to the heavy snow we've had recently, and it was well worth the wait.
