Humax FOXSAT-HD Freesat receiver - Pocket-lint

Sky's subscription stranglehold on high-def broadcasting means that many people simply can't afford to experience HD TV for themselves. But thanks

Operating system, high-def pictures, non-Freesat mode, connections

Noisy SD pictures

The FOXSAT HD offers a great introduction to the world of Freesat. The most impressive aspect is the user interface, which makes it an absolute breeze to use, but it’s also packed with a decent array of features and connections, and its picture quality...

Humax FOXSAT-HD Freesat Receiver

Humax Foxsat-HD

This stylish Freesat box certainly looks the part - and its user-friendly performance is equally impressive

Exceptionally smart and well-styled EPG and menu screens ; pictures are clean and stable ; HD performance is very impressive

Slight softness to SD picture and thin sound performance

Humax Foxsat-HD

I have had a satellite disk for years – so long in fact it predates Sky – however the box with it has long been faulty. Humax now have a service that installs a dish and your unit, when the installer arrived my original disk position was unsuitable...

The Guide gives quite a bit of information showing the current channel as well as the next six. Around 150 minutes of information is shown at any time with a description of the current program at the top of the screen. This is the default view, but,...
