The Negatives to computer prints are washed out on some. may be the negatives. the photo scans are excellent. It's not a speedy scanner, but I was looking for quality and it has excellent quality scanning old photos.

bought 2nd hand ex office on Amazon resellers. works well, seems reliable and well enough made for home use. Software is easy to use and consistent. A bit slow sometimes but can't complain for the price.

This scanner works fine on XP. XP detects and installs the driver, however you can not install the HP driver. It is still works! I succesfully scanned OCR and Color photo with a usb cable! Helps if you know what you're doing. ;)

Have no complaints at all about this scanner. For the price I highly recommend it. HP has always sold pretty reliable equipment, maybe not the highest in visual quality, but usually pretty rugged. The only trouble was that Windows XP's default drivers...
