Canon CanoScan D660U

This CCD-based scanner offers attractive color for Web images and a film adapter, but its performance is slightly sluggish.

The CanoScan D660U will appeal to value-conscious buyers who are willing to trade slow scanning speed and a lower optical resolution for the included transparency adapter and a big software bundle.

Easy to install and use.

Dust under the glass.

Decent Low-Range Scanner

I bought this scanner because I'm cheap and I didn't want to pay $500 for an HP Photosmart, but I needed to scan negs and slides in addition to prints. I paid around $125, I believe, around mid 2001, at Office Depot for this unit. It was very simple to...

When you get it, check the inside glass with flash light before you plug it in. Mine was peppered with grime and dust; Scans show these as white specks everywhere! I'm returning this product from company that does no quality checks on its product. Mine...
