The Canon DR-1210C represents a rare breed: a flatbed document scanner that's truly affordable for a small office or home office.

Low price for a flatbed document scanner. Incredibly fast text recognition. Unusually easy to use.

Scans only in simplex mode (one side of each page). Low raw scan speed, at 12 pages per minute.

The Canon DR-1210C's one real limitation is that it can scan only one side of a page. Beyond that, Canon got almost everything right.

It's not often that I sit down with a product to test and keep saying things...

There(tm)s a good range of software and excellent image quality, but you pay a lot for the durability and ADF.

They're also meant for occasional use, unlike dedicated document scanners...

works great - not for heavy usage

just purchased our second unit. our first died after about 1.4 months HEAVY duty scanning. we use it to go paperless with our customer invoices - scanning several hundred thousand pages. our invoices are pink very lightweight tear off sheets but the ADF h...

too bad our first died with controller/sensor error but overall great performance considering how heavily we use it. we switched to using a new version of omnip@ge for much better scanning performance
