Canon imageFormula P-215 Scan-tini Personal Document Scanner

Although big and heavy for a portable scanner, the Canon imageFormula P-215 Personal Document Scanner's fast speed, duplexing, and ADF make it well worth the extra size and weight.

Automatic document feeder. Duplexes. Rated at 15 pages per minute for black and white as well as grayscale

Relatively big and heavy for a portable scanner. Application programs don't install by default

Canon ImageFORMULA P-215

Canon's latest offers high specs for a portable sheet-feed scanner, including duplex scanning.

Can scan ID cards ; Neat cover/feed tray ; 20-sheet feed tray

No case supplied ; Photo scanning could be better ; Bit heavy for true portability

Canon P-215 review

Although we've seen a number of sheetfed scanners over the last year, truly portable models like the Canon P-215 remain something of a rarity.

In general the Canon P-215 works very effectively. We weren't quite as impressed by the feeding mechanism as we hoped to be, although those looking to scan letters and other smooth materials should have few problems. The software is certainly...

This well-designed portable scanner comes with superb software. It's perfect for mobile workers who need to capture multi-page documents

Portable scanner that doesn't require batteries

Fast, Compact portable scanner, Draws power from USB on host computer

Expensive, Relatively modest scanning resolution

A price tag of £257 means that the P-215 is quite a bit more expensive than an ordinary flatbed office scanner. However, its compact, portable design and clever software makes it a good choice for people who need a basic scanner for business documents...

Great Scanned Image

Used to scan multipage reports. Makes a great copy. Speed good. Lots better than hand feeding a flat-bed scanner. Skips pages (1 out of 20) and last page always needs to be coaxed through.

Let's be fair..

To the guy complaining about old OS issues. If you buy something today don't expect it to support OLD OS. It was designed for current. It's lame to bash a product for not being backwards compatible especially when they don't advertise it as being such.

Best bang for the buck you can find in a portable scanner. In fact I just love the fact that its small and compact when not in use sitting on my desk 90% of the time. It's even easy to maintain with parts you can replace yourself

Beware of OS.

If you have windows 7, I think you will have no problem. 4 starts for using this under Windows 7. If you have XP or Vista, get something else.

You don't need to load software to get this scanner to work. The scanner has self contained software for simple duplex scans. It comes with software to do more advanced scans. See Cons

I was unable to get this to work on computers using Windows Vista and XP with the extra software. It worked with no problem on Windows 7 and Windows 8. When I called Canon, they too had problems. It has been 4 weeks and they have not figured out what...

Seriously -- it is large enough to take full sheets or longer, and it is small enough to pick up and move to my laptop when I am there. Great quality and smart as a whip. Can scan either side.About me... Frequent user, Budget Conscious, Demand high...

Right size and easy to move where & when I need it
