Epson should be embarrassed

Epson should be embarrassed to rate this as they do. If they still want to sell it, they should either fix it so it DOES scan as fast as they say (continuously, not just short bursts), or downrate it appropriately, and drop the price to half. That...

Seems solidly built - it's heavy enough ; I have no qualms about the construction of it, it should last a good long time

Abysmal speed, especially on a Mac ; Epson rates it 40 ppm B&W-200 dpi. It actually did scan 40 ppm for a while when scanning B&W 200 dpi, but after about 100 sheets, it would scan 5 sheets, then pause for a count of 2, then another 5 & another pause....

Eats through documents like a barracuda

Over all I highly recommend this scanner, it's probably the best out on the market right now. Additionally, check out Epson's web page to see if they are offering additional mail-in rebates.

I have never seen a scanner go through documents as fast as this. When you press the scan button it starts scanning. There is no warm up time. I do not know if the ultrasonic double feed woks or not, I just know that I have not had one jam or scan more...

It only has one scan wheel, or it may be the ultrasonic scan double feed protection. The problem that this creates is if you have a "carbon copy" page this will tear it to shreds. There is a clear sleeve included with the scanner for such documents....

WOW!

" This scanner is 'da Bomb!' I can't believe how easy it is to install and use. I purchased this as a 'refurbished' scanner from Epson along with a 3-year replacement warranty. I save over 50% of the purchase price of a new one and it is awesome. "
