The Epson Perfection 2400 Photo takes consumer scanning to a new level of quality, speed and ease-of-use with a true resolution of 2400 x 4800dpi - the highest available on a scanner of this kind. Combined with a range of flexible, user-friendly features and a built-in transparency unit, the Perfection 2400 Photo creates the perfect solution for demanding users for whom only the best quality is good enough. The Epson Perfection 2400 Photo offers a range of features designed to make the whole scanning process as simple as possible. The Epson Twain 5.6 driver has enhanced features and capabilities that include a Full Auto Mode which previews the type, size and inclination of the original, selects the optimum parameters required, performs the scan and transfers it to the application. Additionally Auto Skew Correction detects the alignment of the original and automatically straightens it, and Auto Document Recognition detects the type of document to be scanned. The new plug-and-play USB 2.0 interface not only ensures maximum connectivity and improved efficiency but also ultra high speed data transfer, ideally suited for general document and photo scanning up to 40 times faster than a USB 1.1 interface. The Epson user-friendly SmartPanel Interface is on hand to provide a comprehensive on-screen, one-touch scanning control center from which users can program and customize the scanner's Start button to their requirements. These applications include Scan to Copy, Scan to OCR (Optical Character Recognition) - enabling text documents including newspapers and magazine articles to be scanned into editable text, Photo Print, Scan to Application and Scan to Web. The Scan to Web application enables photos to be shared photos over the Internet. The Epson Perfection 2400 Photo built-in 35mm x 6 frame Transparency Unit can be used to scan negatives and transparencies and is ideally suited to amateur and professional photographers alike. This Transparency Unit also ensures an easy and convenient way of capturing and storing images fast. With excellent high resolution scanning capabilities, your original scans will output high quality photographic enlargements even at A4 size.
