Epson Perfection 3590 Photo

The Epson Perfection 3590 Photo ($149.99 direct) is aimed primarily at people who want to scan photos, but it isn't limited to scanning prints. The claimed 3,200-pixel-per-inch (ppi) optical resolution is more than enough to scan 35-mm slides and...

Automatic feeder for 35-mm negatives. Color-restore feature revives old photos. Scans directly to PDF format

No automatic document feeder (ADF). Scans only one slide at a time

The photo-centric 3590 does a good job on prints, a generally acceptable job on film, and makes scanning 35-mm negatives particularly easy.

Epson Perfection 3590 Photo scanner

The Epson Perfection 3590 Photo is a fine choice if you are looking for an inexpensive, entry-level scanner. It did a very good job of capturing detail, but picky photographers might be disappointed with the visible color cast in default scanning modes.

Convenient built-in transparency unit with automatic film feeder ; includes efficient color-restoration software

Colors were a touch on the green side

The 3590 connects to your Mac via USB 2.0. It has a few buttons on the front that allow you to scan directly to PDF, to an e-mail program, or to your default printer. The buttons did work, but I still needed to click a few menu items on my computer's...

A feature-packed scanner with a built-in adapter for scanning all those slides and negatives you've got sitting in your bottom drawer.

Our test scans came out a bit dark on the automatic settings.

works as advertised

The buttons on this unit are copy, make pdf, send as email. That causes the appropriate software to open on the computer. I could not get the software to install properly on the initial attempt so I called Epson for help. They made some simple...

Hi-quality image, good speed, not especially noisy

Software needs improvement

Loud, but affordable and effective.

Bought this to replace an old Epson Perfection 1250 that I liked but had broken during moving. I agree with the review that says that it's loud - it definately is noisy during scans. Other than that, the software installed without a glitch, and in a...

Reasonably priced, fast setup, easy-to-use software

Noisy operation. Way too many stickers to be removed from unit

Mind the return policy

Got mine a week ago. Never worked. Defective USB port (PC shows "unkown device"). Newegg, which is usually a great place to buy, won't replace it. The company does anything possible to make your life complicated: had to spend 1 hour on the phone (after...

looks nice

Company/seller won't replace units that never worked

More quiet than my Umax model but I don't expect Scanners to be silent. So, I'm very pleased plus you know its working...LOL I rate the actually a 4.5 instead of a 5 because of the Negatives being so difficult to manually set settings to get the same...

Fast preview and intelligent scan system. Great for People who like to setup and scan without reading too much of the instructions I suggest you do read the basics but that took 15 minutes. The Automatic Photo(dust, color restore) and ocr touches are...

The Slides are slow in Full Auto mode, Manual Mode is Fast with slides as well. However I tried tweaking so I could just scan manually and got frustrated trying to match the Full Auto mode results so the full auto mode was the only way I could get...

GREAT BUY

This scan is wonderful. Only issue is the noise. It is a little bit too loud when scannin, but picture quality and software bundle justify 5-star rate. Newegg shipping was incredible this time. Very fast.
