Scanner favors bells and whistles over output quality

While the 4990 produced passable-to-good results at a good price, the differences between this scanner and similar products aren't what they once were. In some ways, the inclusion of so much software seems to be “because they can” and not entirely...

Excellent All-around Scanner

 

New Egg service is great. Ordered this with overnight shipping and that's what I got. Great company.

Got the Epson 4990 Pro after my 3190 died. This scanner is as good as its reviews. Excellent quality for both transparencies and reflectives. In the 'home' user mode I can throw three 4x6s on the glass at once and the preview accurately picks up each...

Negative holders are a bit fussy to work with. D-Ice on reflectives isn't as effective. I was very disapointed that this scanner didn't come with a 'scan manager' front end like the 3000 Series. You have to deal with separate 'Epson Scan', 'Epson...
