Epson Perfection V300 Photo

You won't find many differences in basics between the V300 and 5600F, but the few that exist are in the V300's favor. Both offer 4,800-pixel-per-inch (ppi) optical resolution; both have transparency scanning limits of only four slides or one six-frame...

Scores well on quality and ease of use for scanning both photographic prints and transparencies (slides and strips of film)

Scans only four slides or one six-frame strip of film at a time

The Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner scans both prints and transparencies (slides and strips of film) surprisingly well, and even comes with an optical character recognition program.

DON'T buy this scanner. Worked 10 scans then broke. NO!

I searched the reviews and this seemed to be a good buy, NOT !!!! It worked for about 10 scans, then started making grinding noises and blurred all future scans. If you buy it and have trouble, you were warned, sorry . DO NOT BUY THIS SCANNER

NO GOOD SCANNER !! Worked for 10 scans then started making grinding noise, and blurred all future scans. I reviewed this scanner and it got mostly good ratings, but it is a piece of junk !! Don't waste your money, I did !! Never again

Didn't work after 60 days. Technical Support said to ship to nearest repair center. Called repair center; they said it wasn't mechanical but software related. Uninstalled and reinstalled software; still did not work for 35 mm slides; works for photos
