I sold it and got an Epson!

We purchased this ScanJet 5300c a year ago. We found that it really did well on high-contrast typed documents. "Photocopies" of forms filled in with ink (especially blue) did poorly. We FAX documents a bit. Never have we been able to scan a page...

easy-to-use buttons. Quick installation. Low cost.

discouraging scan qualities for certain inks and contrasts. Makes horrid FAX files (for transmitting).

The PrecisionScan software does not easily allow you to change resolution and color depth without going through several dialog boxes. Also, it does not allow you to do a "quick preview;" when you preview the image it scans the entire body of the page...

good scan quality and color
