Review: Kodak Scanmate i1120

Kodak is launching a new scanning and imaging product for the commercial space. The CMP Channel Test Center gives it a look.

Used at work, persnickety machine

But it is fast and easy to use.

But when it is working, it's AMAZING. Photo scans are very accurate and fast

You have to clean the machine entirely too frequently. Dust shows up as green streaks through photos and requires a sticky cleaning sheet and dust free, lint free cloth cleaning wipes...then the wheels become disgusting and need to be cleaned with yet...

Exactly what I needed.

We needed a scanner at work to scan signed invoices and I did alot of research before deciding on this one. It's fast, almost never double feeds, great clarity and resolution, and takes up less space than a keyboard.

Excellent Scanner

The Scanner is small and light, definitely easy to keep on the desktop. The Trays foldup nicely as well to make it even more compact. The onetouch software is highly customizable for the presets. I have used Xerox OneTouch which wasn't as easy. Not...

Wish it would have come with a 'newer' release of Paperport. Comes with version 11 yet they are actually up to v14 now i believe. It would be nice for the price of the scanner if there was some way to upgrade to the latest paperport version. Mostly we...

Decent hardware, but old software. Very hard to justify the price.

I bought this scanner on sale from NewEgg in January 2009 and have used it alot. Worked great with XP, but not recommended for Windows 7 or x64 Windows. Great hardware, but very disappointing that the software has not been updated.

Solid hardware, easy to use, quite a few features and highly configurable software, feeds documents well

The first unit I received had a bad sensor--color documents had vertical yellow lines. NewEgg replaced it and although the new one was better, it is definitely not usable for scanning photos--there are always vertical white lines on the image ;...

Kodak SOHO Doc Scanner a winner

I hope it's durable--with three months of far, so good.

This unit has enabled a small insurance office to enter a near paperless realm. As their tech support person, they have let me know several times how extremely happy they are with it. It is shared off a dedicated fax server and is accessible by all for...

None, regarding this implementation/budget/scenario

Worth it

Too bad I can't buy the neat receipts software on it's own to use with this kodak.

It can actually scan faster than 20 ppm, it did 8 double sided pages in 20 seconds, so 24ppm=48ipm is doable at 200dpi. Plus the pros other people said ; 300dpi color = 500KBytes per side of a page, 300dpi BnW = 125Kbytes per side ; Unlike the...

Doesn't work out of the box with Win7x64 - but copying the CD to the local HD and running the individual setup programs gives you the button dohickey for your menu tray ; Not multi-core aware. I have a quad core and when running the OCR for the PDF it...

Love it. Would buy it again.

Versatile, fast,Paperport program works great once you learn how to use it (took about 1/2 day)

The instant scan buttons are hard to use. Easier to scan into Paperport

We have 5 for scanning shipping and receiving doents, sales orders and AP invoices. Work great and reliable (3 months in use)

Scans Fast Easy to use Good build Quality

Quick Scan button did not work on 1 PC

Just the service would cause me to buy this machine again

I have been very pleased with the service Kodak gave us. The first machine was defective, and by 10am the next morning we had a new machine in our office from them. It performs very well, would buy again

cant think of any
