Microtek ScanMaker 6100 Pro

This high-resolution flatbed delivers pleasing scans from prints and film, but it's no speed demon at low resolution.

The Microtek ScanMaker 6100 Pro's high resolution, versatile transparency adapter, and powerful scanning software make this unit well suited for serious users who are more interested in image quality than in speed.

Microtek ScanMaker 6100 Pro

Among the best flatbed scanners for slide scan quality. Includes conveniences like a built-in light box in the lid for previewing transparencies

No automatic document feeder. When scanning photographic prints, you have to choose between speed and quality, with faster scans using Microtek's software or better scans with the bundled SilverFast scan software

In addition to the usual assortment of document types you'd expect for a flatbed scanner, the ScanMaker 6100 Pro handles slides surprisingly well. It also forces you to choose between its own Twain driver and the slower but higher-quality scans you'll...

AWESOME SCANNER

This scanner really works great. I scanned an old photo and I was able to completely restore it- even the tear in the middle!

probably incompatible with Mac OS10.4

Although my scanner is a 5900, which will not work with my new Mac (G4, running Tiger 10.4.2), this one uses the same "ScanWizard 5" software package so the odds are pretty good that the 6100 won't work on current Macs either. This failure is after...

SO simple to install~

Needs a more comprehensive manual.~

Good scanner for the money

Good scanner for the money

Here are a few impressions from a rather novice scanner. I bought the machine to do mostly 35mm slides, and 35 and 120 negatives, both color and black and white. I didn't want to invest in a dedicated Nikon 35mm scanner yet, because I just don't have...

ScanMaker 6100

The two EZ-lock film holders work well - one is for 35mm strips, the other for 35mm slides and 6-x-7 film. You pre-load them, then put them on the bed where raised loops engage with slots in the scanner for precise alignment. This lets the scanner...

Review of the Microtek Scanmaker 6100 - Digital SLR Reviews

The Microtek ScanMaker 6100 covers a fair amount of desk space but compensates with a relatively low profile.....

Product Specifications

Packed with the latest scanning technology, Microtek's ScanMaker 6100 offers 3200 x 6400-dpi optical resolution, built-in 4"x5" transparency adapter, Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) interface, and eight function buttons for automating the most common scanning tasks. With its slim, sleek design, this powerhouse is the perfect choice for small office or home users who demand the highest levels of performance, style and value. SilverFast SE 6 features a host of highly intuitive professional scanning options designed to deliver the best possible scan quality from the ScanMaker 6100.
