This article addresses : EXACTLY why the UMAX 1200 is a mediocre Buy, HOW MUCH you should expect to pay, and ALL the tips and details that may make or break your image transfer experience.

Compromise Quality for Price? Maybe Not.

 

I bought this scanner because it was really cheap, but did I buy a lemon? Not really - I'm mostly satisfied.

The UMAX 1220S is an excellent scanner. I puchased mine about 2 yrs ago. It is a SCSI interface, which makes it very fast. I was not happy with the SCSI adapter card it came with so I purchased an aftermarket Adaptec 2940UW PRO SCSI card. It comes with...

The scanner is fine, the support is less than wonderful

 

The price was good, and the Adobe Photo Deluxe software is very easy to use.

Umax does not respond well to emails for help. Their web site is not all that user friendly.
